To this day, LGBT communities and especially trans peoples and LGBT youth are forced to undergo extensive physical and psychological abuse in the guise of treatment to "cure" their sexual and gender identities. Many times it is their sexuality or gender identity that is the basis for being institutionalized in a mental health facility.

Regardless of the strength of the arguments, quoting a Commie Party rag is not going to get you any support in the US. BTW, the old Soviet system used a ton of psudo-science itself.

Oh I don't care if its the gospel of the second coming, no one will take any argument as serious if that's the source.

But that is subjective to the reader or final information destination. Just because you may dismiss it out of hand does not mean others will. I am a die hard capitalist but have someone close to me that is a Marxist. The very first conversation we ever had was on socialism and it was quite a debate. :)

I don't, and do not dismiss it out of hand - but most people consider it a joke, or worse. Its hardly a source any more worthy of being quoted than the Weekly World News.

Still ... Where there is smoke, there is fire. And just so this is clear: Anarcho-Communism rocks. The only reason communism has a bad rep is because it was imposed by governments who exploited the system for their own gain.

Eh...Weekly World News has more credibility than World Net Daily, and WND articles get posted often enough.

From an American perspective, another (and even more important) reason is that they ended up leading the opposite camp during the Cold War. But yes, Stalin and Mao had about as much to do with communism as Fred Phelps has with Christianity.

I believe Barny Rubble would have done a better job, at least he was BORN stupid, however, until we humans acknowledge and/or create a multi-gender society rather than the current bi-gender setup that we currently have, this debate will never end. :P
Sowweeeee, I am in a playful mood.. :embarrassed:

Anarcho-Communism rocks
I guess that explains why so many North Korean bands are burning up the punk charts these days.
The tragedy, or inevitable outcome (either way) of that system was a totalitarian government, a la Red China, or a cult of personality, a la Cuba. Either way sucks.
It may well be a near perfect system on paper, however, you have to do it with humans, who are, far from perfect.

Keep in mind that I specifically refer to Anarchist communism, which is not hierarchical, and does away with the state entirely. That said, most anarchists are the first to concede that a lot more education needs to happen before anarcho-communism or anarcho-socialism work.
That doesn't mean it can't though. Early America with its emphasis on town-hall meetings and direct democracy functioned somewhat along anarchist lines, even if it was always more capitalist than socialist in nature.
