"In Deval Patrick, though, I see hope. I see opportunity. If we could bridge the gap, if we could come together, LGBT and African-Americans, and see how we are fighting the same fight, we are fighting for equality, equal access, equal opportunity, and fairness under the law, we could be a force to deal with in the Democratic Party."

The reality, though, is that aside from some lip service along the line that our rights and needs will be addressed- and I'm not simply talking about LGBT issues, but African-American's issues, too—the candidates know they are going to get our vote and drop our issues like a hot potato.
Like Senator Barack Obama saying: "I believe marriage is between one man and one woman.
