"I am not convinced that there is anything to HRC than simply image.
From outside, the organization looks impressive. "Human Rights Campaign": sounds inclusive and ethical. Nice big headquarters in Washington, DC, a cutie-pie for a leader, good website, noble purpose, and 700,000+ supporters. It has everything that one would want an LGBTQ organization to have.
Except a rainbow."

QuoteAnd quit selling out our Transgender community. From your actions, their inclusion in your mission statement sounds more like a fundraising ploy than an heartfelt concern.
Exactly!
Time to let the old dinos fade out.

QuoteWould anyone care if HRC were to disappear? On one hand, formalwear outlets would sorely miss the organization. On the other hand, some LGBTQ organizations might rejoice as their funding increased.
And what money did get raised would actually go to local (municipal, county, & state) causes.
QuoteHRC is not about local concerns, he said. "The best way I have to describe the organization is that that it's kind of like insurance. You pay into it in case you need it someday. Every fight we win in another state sets a precedent when we go to battle here. And HRC's Equality Index for Fortune 500 companies has helped companies become more equal."
Great, just what we all need, another insurance company that's main concern is bringing in money and allowing its execs to live the high-life schmoozing with stars and the notorious in order to raise even more money. 3-card Monte, anyone?

My town had is Pride event last Saturday. On my way out, I was accosted by an HRC volunteer, "May I have a minute of your time?" ""No thanks, I'm trans," I replied.
Instead of HRC, try giving to the organizations listed on this page:
