Title: Thread Drift

Post by: Laurry on June 30, 2008, 09:21:17 PM
Since I never seem able to stay on topic anyway, I thought I would start a thread designed for drift. So, feel free to take this in any direction you would like it to go. We can stay on one topic for a while, or switch every post. The only rule is to play nice.
Come on over to the dark side...drift with me. You know you want to.

I've been looking into medium length hairstyles. I would really like a bob with wispy ends - perhaps a bit like a katie homes bob. Not sure if it will suit me though.

Just to drift in my own post - has anyone seen charlie 2 (charlie the unicorn) - the second video? Weird. Thats all I can say. Not that the first one wasn't, but this one was like another order of weird. Totaly weird. Blililililililililililillilip! :P

Nice hair, but do I HAVE to sleep with Tom Cruise and do the Scientology trip to get it?

Yep, except you won't know as they put it in the perm solution. At least I hope so...those razor haircuts can be a little frightening when administered by Radical Scientologist Terrorists. Lest you think I'm kidding (and I am), who do you think the "Cruise" missile is named after? Don't you know that Scientology is just a secret wing of the Government, just like the Baptists? Established to enforce approved thought processes via the Moral Mafia. And, for the Godless heathen rabble, the Ecology worshiping Political Correctness Thought police serve the same purpose with a slightly different twist to keep the two sides at war and their attention diverted from the corruptness of our political system.
If there is anyone who was not offended, or who was accidentally left out of the list, please accept my deepest apologies for the oversight. This is my first attempt at Conspiracy Constructs and I still haven't quite gotten the hang of tying all my lies into one cohesive self-verifying, almost plausible, undeniable truth.
I'll try to do better next time, LOL

Dunno, it is pretty major surgery. I don't think it would be weird, but I think it might not be wise unless you feel strongly about it. Also if you lost feeling in your nipples that would not be good, assuming you like the feeling in your nipples...
Yeah, I could go for some bacon too riven_one - maybe a bacon sandwich with avocado and tomato.
I'm off to get 8 fillings today :( Most of them are only surface ones so they won't be too bad - preventative kind of thing. But I'm getting this big old amalgem one replaced as it is around 20 years old and chipped. I think that's going to hurt.

Can someone tell me why doing mathematics is so hard? I mean the hardest math I can do is maybe x + 2 = 4. Yea I suck at math...
Edit: Is there a difference between a male tongue and a female tongue?

They feel the same to me. In my experience the difference depends more on who is driving it.
I like Maths (We call it maths in my country. 'Math' sounds retarded to my ear, but it probably goes both ways ;))
I think it is a brain thing. Some people are wired for it better than others so don't be too hard on yourself. It could be worse, you could be a math geek.

Well, I just got my dental work done. Half my mouth and tongue is still numb. It went ok. I watched a movie while they operated. He even found a second amalgam filling near my gum line that I did not know about and replaced that for free. I keept waiting for him to replace my big filling and suddenly it was all done - I had not even noticed him doing it! 8)

Of course it is -- just go far enough from the middle. Androgynes are lucky, though, in that both directions work just as well (unless of course you want to make a distinction between 'dressed as a girl' and 'dressed as a boy').

Sure, if I am wearing boy clothes, it's really a drag ;)
In the sense that drag can be performance, anyone can do it, including androgynes.

The problem will be in finding a plastic surgeon who will perform it. Anyone can walk in and request boobs the size of basketballs, but it takes letters from 2 psychiatrists to have them removed. >:(

Well, ya! Androgynes can dress in DRAG (DRessed As a Girl). What I don't get is how FtoMs are considered to be in DRAG when they are DRessed As a Boy (DRAB). I guess there's no term for DRessed As an Androgyne (DRAA).

I have always wanted purple corduroy trousers like this man's

If we consider as the dictionary definition for the verb pervert to "alter (something) from its original course" this entire thread is a perversion. If we consider perversion to be "serious deviation from what is considered to be orthodox or normal", perversion is our usual fare here. So long live perversion; bring it on.
I used to say I am a conservative anarchist--get rid of all the rules, just do it gradually, with a view to restoring equity, and without fuss. But the word conservative has been perverted in recent years.
I would seriously object to having my nipples poked through anyone's ear lobes. Understood?

I caught part of a public TV program about Jewish Americans last night. The program noted that more comedians are Jewish than would be expected given our numbers. They explained that by saying that the people you meet are less likely to beat you up if you keep them laughing. So Jews learn humor, especially self-deprecating humor, as a defense mechanism.
Remembering the thread on mild-mannered androgyne (which some also called a defense mechanism) and the remarks others have made on the high density of humor in this forum, I had an ah-hah moment. Of course, some of our humor is rather dense or, at least, heavy handed.
Good night all,
S

Indeed. heh...I just couldn't help myself though, when Reb mentioned being touched. The same thing happened when we were watching "Gotham Knight" (before Dark Knight...which was AWESOME!...like I haven't said that a million times)...Batman touches a kids shoulder and we're all giggling madly saying things like "I need an adult" and "he touched me in a bad place"...we're twisted human beings. :P

As for Jewishandrogyn's, well on second thought. why not there are probably Jewish transsexuals or even Muslim transsexuals. Transgendered doesnt realy discriminated as to who it chooses, or what and where it chooses for candidates.
I realy wouldn't want the job of being the judge on that one. Me I'm just another one among the peasants.

No one would be interested in my perversions. They suck.
Someday I'm going to see the Dark Knight. It's about time people started respecting The Batman.
I wrote a story once where Batman goes insane and kills his dry cleaner because the dry cleaner put too much starch in him and robin's capes and when they jumped off of a bridge to catch a guy, they flew in circles over Gotham River for hours eventually landing in the water which is heavily polluted. He was pissed.
They let batman wear his costume in prison because they thought it might help his mental rehabilitation. Robin came to visit a few times but stopped because batman wouldn't stop complaining about the Joker, who was in the cell next to his.

I think the reason that so huge a % of people in comedy are either Jewish or Catholic is the same reason that as PhDs they have number far in excess of the general population and somewhere in there is the difference in growing up in something that is ritual based and not faith based.

I think the reason that so huge a % of people in comedy are either Jewish or Catholic is the same reason that as PhDs they have number far in excess of the general population and somewhere in there is the difference in growing up in something that is ritual based and not faith based.

No, the discipline deal might come for the Catholic kids from the schools, but when its not faith based, it becomes scholastic and academic, its open to inquire, argue, debate and in that there is much humor to be found.

Jews and Catholics are also big on feelings of guilt. But there are differences. Growing up, watching the groups at soda fountains, I observed the Catholics were well-behaved and somewhat subdued, while the Jews were all talking at once and not visibly self-disciplined.

I only remember the ones from the fifties era, I'm old, but NOT that old like circa 1890s.
Though the 'gay 90s' soda fountains were attached to pharmacies which sold opium, cocaine, morphine and laudanum, I'd most likely skip the malts.

And Coca Cola was briefly made using real coca.
I recently had one of my ideas of heaven from the '50s--a chocolate milk shake made with chocolate ice cream (which we called a double chocolate shake). This place advertised they had the best frappes in Boston; it was good, worth every calorie.
I do remember my friends and I kept getting kicked out, because we'd read all the books and magazines and buy nothing.

I was with you up to the mention of Ricky Nelson. He and I were the same age, and by the time he starting singing professionally my family had moved to the suburbs. The last year I was an inner-city kid was 1956. I guess my favorite would have been Gogi Grant singing the Wayward Wind. Or anything by Patience and Prudence. Patti Page, the Singing Rage, was big. Lonnie Donegan sang about the Rock Island Line that rumbled through the night as I lay in bed on nights so hot and humid one stuck to the sheets. Pat Boone had a number of hits, and Bill Haley and the Comets followed their hits Rock Around the Clock and Shake, Rattle, and Roll with See You Later, Alligator. And there was Elvis, Lisbon Antigua, the theme from Picnic, and the theme from the Three Penny Opera.
Ah, yes. I remember it well,

Lonnie Donegan? That's a blast from the past. Though I'm very partial to the Johnny Cash version, and Little Richard did a good job on it too, but The Knitters with Exene Cervenka on vocals and guitarist Dave Alvin do it best.

Alright, here's an overly stupid question that I probably shouldn't ask. Is an introverted or extroverted parent the best parent for a trans person to come out to?
My parents are fairly heavy on the introverted side. They were kind of iffy at first when I came out of the closet, but they have really come around -- especially my mom. So, going by my experience, I tend to think that an introverted parent might be more tolerant or supportive than a extroverted parent.

I had a friend back when I was in my early thirties who had two white streaks along both sides of her head. She fixed the problem by streaking the white streaks a light coppery brown color. It looked good and streaking ones hair was not a common thing back then. I don't know what causes that except genetics. It's more common in guys but it does occure in women occasionally. I do pray that was of help.
