I have been doing very well, very confident in my transition, looking forward to vacation in a few days. Upbeat, etc.
Well, back in May I ordered a nice prosthetic. It's 3 weeks late in coming, but I had been promised that it had shipped. Every day I anticipate and am disappointed.
Well today I emailed the company for the gazillionth time only to find out that they supposedly shipped my order to the wrong person, and now they have to make a new one.
It's like a huge kick in the teeth. I haven't felt this horrible about myself in a long time. It's like a huge depression has come over me and I just want to ball up and cry and die. I've always known I've had a huge dysphoria about my lack of anatomy, and ordering an expensive prosthetic really boosted my body image, knowing it was on the way. That it's not coming in the near future has practically devastated me. It sounds stupid but there it is.
The company apologizes and says they'll make a new one and rush it, but the damage is done. And how do I know they won't make me an inferior product in their rushing?
Wow. I had no idea I'd feel this bad over a stupid piece of silicone.

If you ordered from someone reputable, I doubt they'd send you an inferior product.

Whoa dude. It's a piece of plastic! But I think I know what you mean. It's not the prosthetic. It was just the last straw. You think everything's going okay and you can handle everything but one more disappointment and it all comes crashing down.

That would be funny IF:
1) it weren't MY dick
2) the person who got it was also a customer of theirs and now has TWO dicks and I have none
3) I actually believe they sent it, which I'm not sure they even did (never got a tracking # despite them telling me they'd send it)

Yeah, that about sums it up.
I'm going away for 2 weeks and I really thought I'd have it by then and had made plans based on it. Being anatomically correct is a huge issue for me. The only reason I chose LJ over FTM was the stp option. Now I'm just pissed (literally!)

Regarding #2, can you imagine how funny it would be if it ended up being delivered to a convenant or some conservative old lady? I cannot stop laughing at the mental image of my mother or one of her friends finding a dick in their mailbox. >:D

It's just that I didn't realize my dysphoria was that bad until I realized that I wasn't getting my dick...I haven't felt that low or depressed in AGES and it was such a foreign feeling after being so positive for so long. It was visceral.

Meanwhile I got rave reviews about the ftm-australia product. It's only $150 more. Shoulda went with them.
