Title: The lunch cart

I usually go and get lunch from some food vendors that are near my work that work out of carts about the size of a delivery truck or small motor home. I like to get some food for $5 and then split it between 2 days, since I can't stomach a whole lunch anymore. There is a Thai food one that I have been frequenting for some time and I have talked to the lady who works up front with the customers. One thing that has never been discussed is my gender or TS status. She has always called customers sir or ma'am...except me. So, I suspected that she suspected I was TS. She has always been very kind to me and remembered what I usually order and even gave me a free lunch on my birthday.
Anyway, I had visited the cart last week after going fulltime and they was a different woman working there. Today is the first time I have seen the lady I have been talking to since going fulltime. She definitely recognized me and kept telling me how pretty I looked today. It was very busy at the time and she said if it weren't she would talk to me longer. It was a very positive experience it reaffirms my belief that there are many accepting people in this area.

I have usually found that to be the case Melissa. The woman at the hotdog stand I go to sometimes called me ma'am even before I went fulltime. She knew and thought it was wonderful that I was transitioning.
I also stop at a health food store sometimes to get some water or other things and the owners there always treated me with the utmost respect and always said Hi Sarah, they have never missed even when they are busy.

Quote from: Sarah Louise on July 19, 2006, 02:46:48 PMThat's good to know. If I had said something about me transitioning, I'm sure it would have been fine, but I guess I would rather have had people guessing about me or assume I was female bodied.

You have to take us to that lunch cart for a meal Melissa, when we're in Portland. Sounds awesome.

I don't think it's open on weekends. I think it's just weekdays at lunchtime, hence the term "lunch" cart.
