Title: Breast Augmentation

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone here has had a breast augmentation. I have a consult in 51 days (seems like forever) I had to wait like three months to get in the plastic surgeon is so booked. Anyway my questions are:
Thanks in advance for any input and or advice you may have.
-Holly
- Did the surgeon have to do anything differenty given your trans status?
- What type, size, placement, incision, fill, shape did you choose and are you happy with the results?
- How tall are you, how much do you weight or do you think these two factors matter in the decision making process?
- Would you have done it if you had to make the choice again?
- Would you do anything differently?
Thanks in advance for any input and or advice you may have.

I had implants 6 years ago and it was a great decision I have never regreted. I am tall, 6'3", and thin (180) and the surgeon helped me choose the perfect size not too large, but large enough for my frame.
The size I would have chose was smaller than he suggested, but I went with him and it was perfect.
I had mine placed sub-gland, not under the muscle. I also have not regreted this, I think they look sexier.
My surgeon was a gay man, and had no issues with my being trans at all.

I had inplants installed 2 months ago, as part of my GRS. I left it to my Dr. to decide the best size to be proportional. I had 400ml gel implants installed under the muscle. I'm 5-10 and too heavy at 190 lbs. I'm VERY please with the size and shape. about a C+ on my frame.
My doctor did say that the male pec. muscles are larger then female and there is more pain involved. But mine were not too bad and after the first 4-6 days were fine. The first few days there is soreness.

I had mine done 22 years ago. They are saline and not under the muscle. I have broken the scar tissue manually several times, so they are still soft.
I wish that I had stuck to my original decision to have smaller ones. But the doc talked me out of it. I grew more than I anticipated in the years following my GRS.

Can you pls tell me, having implants for so long, did u have nay problems, capsular contracture, sgging leaking, anything?
I am wondering about having implants long-term...
And i really don't like the idea of having surgery every 10-15 years as many suggest it would be neccesary

Hi ANewMe I have no way to know what your age is but the two girls in the photo appear to be quite young.
#1 Have you consulted with a gender therapist?
#2 Are you on HRT?
#3 if you have then it might be advisable to wait and see the results of estrogen in a few months
#4 Cindi is correct
I am an elder and have been full time and on HRT and believe that even after 8 years on estrogen I am still getting some growth in different places including the breasts, I am happy with the size of my breasts
Cindy.

oOoo, I qualify! let me try to answer the things you have asked :)
Yes, it cost me an extra thousand because I was told that the muscle he had to cut through was tougher or something. I don't know if that's legitimate or not.
I got C's. They are saline, as silicone wasn't allowed at the time i had mine done. The incision is in the fold under each breast. I've got to say, they are round and they are gorgeous, I love them. I was given something to put on the scars and now they can hardly be seen, and only then if one is looking for them. Also, I had a scar from a very old surgery, and he managed to line that up along one side of the fold of my right breast so that that one is hidden as well. It took me months to go, hey, where did that scar go, and look, LOL. I am deliriously happy with the results.
I am tall, 5-11, and in "ok" shape. So, I needed at least a C to make it all look right. They encouraged me to go for a D, but I'm glad I didn't. Lovely as the girls are, it's a fact that they get in the way sometimes too.
Yes, I would do it again, absolutely. I love my breasts! There is nothing that I would do differently.
I would only add a couple of things. My one regret is that the sensation never came back from the middle of my breasts to the bottom of them. The only thing I can feel there is pain, wouldn't you know, like if I get poked or something. I had facial surgery and the sensation all came back, there, but not on my chest.
The other thing is, I had worried that I would end up with nice shapely breasts and still have shrimpy "boy" nipples. I needn't have worried. I guess the skin stretches or whatever, cos I have nice appropriately sized nipples.
Oh, did I mention....it will make all the difference as to how your clothes fit you.

wow such a large number of responces. Thanks to all who've taken the time to reply. Lets see now.
Yes Cindi please share, you sound like you've got more experiance on the topic then any so far. In addition to the questions Mari asked. Have you had any issues with having your mamograms done (as in I've read it is more difficult for the person performing the mamogram).
lol, Cindy (cindybc) no disrespect intended here (so I sincerly hope none is taken) but while your points are valid they've got little to do with my original post. However
#1 - Yes, several years in fact
#2 - HRT, while not quite as long as you, very close. It's been 6 years and I still have nowhere near the breast tissue that I want.

Oh, btw thanks for the comment about my wife and I looking young when I told her what you wrote she laughed. We are not so young as you might think, but we eat only whole real organic foods and that goes for the small amounts of meat we eat as well. We also work out like mad, we want to live a very long life togeather. (oh and I'm the one in the purple blouse)
Stealthgrrl, do you mind if I ask what your height and weight are. Also what size bra did you wear to begin with and how many CCs did you end up getting?
Thanks again to all.

My bewbs and I just celebrated our two-year anniversary as a threesome just yesterday! :)
I'm 5'7, 135lbs, 450cc (a C+ cup on me and I had ZERO breast tissue before BA), saline, round, untextured, areola, under the muscle. Pain and recovery took much longer than I expected. Because I had no breast tissue, my body had to suddenly adapt to C+ cups. It hurt like the Dickens. I would do it again, and again, and again.

From what i have heared; it poses no significant problem, only more images of breast need to obtained in order to get full picture since implant is blocking some of the view.

I am also interested in this. I have been on HRT since April 17, 2008 and I haven't developed much. I know it depends on genetics but shouldn't I see something by now. I am barely 42 B and I have a fairly good chest, 37 around the rib cage. I am sincerely think on BA. Am I jumping the gun.
Holly,
Sorry to jump on your thread but you are asking question I have been think about. You and your wife are very pretty and could be sisters. :D

I've heard that if they are not careful the operator can acually cause a rupture. I'm planning on asking if this is any less likely with placment under the muscle. Consult in 50 more days, can hardly wait (can you tell)

It takes a long time to get the maximum growth through HRT and you will need to wait until that has occured. Think of natal women they start puberty at maybe 8 or so and don't fully develop breasts until late high school (or later) Infact they generally wont do BA on natal women under 18 (roughly 10 years of Hormones). The reason is if you get augmentation and then suddenly grow the appearence of your breasts will change and you may develop complications like a double bubble. I've heard you should wait a minimum of 3 years on HRT before thinking about augmentation. So just to be safe I doubled that recomendation (thus I waited 6 years)
btw: thanks for the complement though we certainly don't think of ourselves as sisters. I think that would be against the law ;) though I think they may do that in some states lol

To answer your questions:
As I said, I am 5-11. My weight? Never ask a lady her weight. I didn't wear a bra before, there was nothing to put in one. And as for the cc's, gawd, I don't recall. It was years ago.
I, too, was told to wait two years at least, but i only waited one. No matter, since my implants were not that big, I had "room to grow" and I did, but not that much. They say you will get about half of what your mother and grandmother have, and they don't have much, soooooo...

thanks. I'd only asked the height/weight question because some time if your a bit taller or weight a bit more you'll need a larger implant in order to have the same affect a smaller one would if you were shorter with a slight frame. Personally I'm 6 feet tall (eek) and though I've lost 87 lbs I'm still on the heavier side of normal BMI.

87 pounds! Wow! You should be really proud of taking off that amount of weight, that's a rare accomplishment!
One of the frustrating things for me is that the one "male" thing I brought forward is that I have the appetite of a longshoreman. It's embarassing. Fortunately, I am required to be active for my job, and so my weight is kept in check, although, like so many women I know, both born and born-again, I'd love to lose some.

Thanks I'm proud of the 87 but still want to lose like another 20-30. My plan is to keep doing what I've done so far (seems to be working ;) )
It's always funny people who see me only rarely always comment "OMG have you lost more weight?" It's always a boost to the ol morale. I must say that in the days trying to live a life that felt wrong I ate in order to fulfill an emotional need, I was depressed all of the time. However as soon as I decided to transition I began to lose weight and the further down the road I got the more determined I got. The weight just kept coming off. I got happier and the weight came off. Being happy for the first time I started caring about what kind of food I put into my mouth and the weight came off. Then I decided if I really wanted to not only be accepted as female (which was never a problem) but to be hot I was going to have to do more... so I started working out and the weight came off. I stated feeling so good about myself that I joined a gym... and guess what happened... I lost weight. So when people ask "OMG how are you losing the weight" I answer "Oh well you know I eat right and exercise" That is usually when people turn arround and head for the hills they all want a magic pill.
So sorry to bore you with the above tirade but I just got started and my fingers kept going.

I have saline implants. I had them done along with my SRS. They are C cup and my incisions are transaxillary. I have not had any adverse side effects (yet} *crosses fingers*, but I just wish they were closer together :embarrassed:, I suppose that is what you get when you get an implant placed under the muscle, the muscle tends to push the implant out a little. *sighs* but yes, overall I am very, very, very happy, considering that I never developed any breasts while I was on HRT! ::) This is a blessing indeed! ;)

Ive been doing alot of research and have found that the Allergan 410 textured/shaped to be the most natural and you can get various shapes to get a tailored look, like the uplifted shape. They are cohesive silicone and Mentor does not produce these. Here is a link: http://www.natrelle.ca/410_rightFit.asp (http://www.natrelle.ca/410_rightFit.asp) I am looking at a dr in Sarnia, ON which he places them areola under the muscle. You get the uplifted look with theses because of the shape.
