Excerpt: Enacting ENDA and hate crimes, ending Don't Ask, Don't Tell
and abstinence-only sex education - the Democrats have not delivered
on any of these goals since they gained control of Congress 18 months
ago. And HRC, which offered a blandly inconclusive one-sentence
response when asked about the Tauscher-Davis discrepancy, has too
often seemed at the ready to co-sign this unimpressive record.

Our government is broken at a fundamental and basic level and nothing will change until people begin to realize that we all, regardless of party, need to work on fixing it rather than just throwing rocks across an ever widening abyss.

Our government is broken...
It's not broken, it works very well for the corporations and rich people. They bought a Congress that represents them, regardless of party, they own both. Democrats are not that different from Republicans, protecting their own, their power and their corporate friends, and only help us if it's fallout or by accident. It's no longer a democratic republic but an oligarchic republic.

I'm not even sure if that's true, and I think its broke so badly that I almost wish it was. It much closer these days to a kleptocracy if not an outright idiocracy. H.L. Menkin once said:
As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
We're not only there, we have a fifty-fifty chance of staying there.
