When I evaluate news articles for inclusion, I try to determine if it's REALLY about trans issues, or if the search hit was just on the parenthetical explanation of what the letters LGBT stand for.  I use the [FIND] function in Firefox (MSIE has a find function, too,) to find all the instances of <trans> in the article.  Alas, many articles are really about gay/lesbian issues only.

This one actually passes my test.  Te release mentions trans specifically (not attached to LGBT) at 3 or 4 points.

I hope these points actually survive the Platform donnybrook at the DNC

Platforms used to be far more important then they are now.  Most stuff gets passed as if on auto-drive feature, then, they are promptly forgotten and ignored.

This one in particular.

Assuming the dems win (and I never underestimate their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of certain victory) the problem they are going to encounter on day one is going to void most of the platform by mid-afternoon.
