Police at first mistook suspect for a woman
A federal prosecutor will continue presenting evidence today in the trial of bank robbery suspect Jimmy Maurice Lewis II, a transgender man with breast implants who was mistaken for a woman when the FBI and police first investigated the robbery.
Lewis, 26, is accused of robbing the Alabama Credit Union on Alabama 67 in Decatur in November. According to federal agents, Lewis handed a note to the bank manager and demanded money.

The media and the public that subscribe to this view have so far won this round. Have you written a polite letter to the Huntsville Times and the writer, David Holden, explaining that a male-to-female trans person who has had breast implants is a trans-woman, and pointing out the Associated Press Styleguide entry on referring to trans issues has these very guidelines?
Has anyone alerted GLAAD about this?
And anybody think about which jail she will almost certainly be housed in, given the tone of this story?
