American immigration officials are denying proper medical care to some detained undocumented immigrants who are HIV-positive, according to an Associated Press story in the New York Daily News.
Reports say there have been numerous instances where HIV-positive detainees have been denied access to adequate medical care, including a 23-year-old transgender woman who died in a cell, handcuffed to a bed, after vomiting blood for close to three days.
