Why couldn't Ellen and Portia have kept their wedding reception as fabulous as they looked last weekend? Instead, they took the crunchy, granola lesbian route. Their tiny 19-guest wedding ceremony featured only vegan food. What was Dish supposed to put in her purse for later? Where are the crab cakes?

This week, while Dish is undercover trying to get the details on the ladies' honeymoon, her cousin, Haggedy Ann, will make a noble effort to fill her 10W pumps.

I have a basic rule for weddings -- No open bar, no me.

I have a basic rule for weddings. As the wedding musician, my band shall be wined and dined, and paid in full before we leave  ;D

I'd go for "before we start" or at least like any other band, 1/2 in advance, 1/2 upon finishing.

We usually get 1/4 in advance to confirm the date, balance due when finished, although if they hand us a check before we start, no complaints. Then you don't have to wander around looking for someone's uncle, or whoever.

Oh, and to stay mildly on topic, congrats to Ellen and Portia!

LOL No.

We play traditional acoustic music; Appalachian, bluegrass, Celtic, klezmer... Some Swedish polskas would be as close as we ever get to ABBA, and that isn't exactly close. Although I did recently see a youtube video of ABBA singing and playing a traditional Scandinavian song w/ accordion.

You could sure do some polka version of Waterloo.  Heck, if Judas Priest can cover Joan Baez, anything is possible.
