a record breaking catfish was caught using a pink Barbie e-z cast.

I'd say he is on the horns of a dilemma, on one hand, holding a catfish record is great for bragging rights down at the bar, on the other hand, he caught it with a pink Barbie E-Z Cast, which is not going to get him any bonus points with Homer, Gomer and Jethro.
Of course, H, G & J, have spent half the money they ever made on fishing equipment, and here all it took was some $19.95 toy.
