Ok, I just thought I'd share an embarrassing moment. It's retrospectively funny. ^_^
I was just in a meeting at the university for an appointment for a sessional lecturer. I was filling the role as the graduate student representative. In the meeting were 4 professors with me. One of them was the head of the department, and the other was my supervisor (who until this year, was the head of the department for the past 10 or so years).
So I'm sitting in this meeting and we're all discussing the course that's being proposed and everything, of course I feel like an insignificant small meaningless student sitting with a bunch of people who control my future. Then all of a sudden, my iPod starts playing music loudly in my pocket. I don't notice at first but then there's a bit of a lull in the meeting. At this point, it's quite obvious that there is music coming from somewhere in the room.
One of the other professors, a russian woman, then says. "Is that Abba?"
I know that for a lot of people, this wouldn't be a big deal. But I'm the kind of person who gets nervous and wants to make a good impression infront of these types of people. SO my face turns completely red-purple while I stammer out an apology and turn off my iPod.
I couldn't concentrate for the rest of the meeting.
*laughs*.
Yup, well I just thought I'd share, now that I'm out of the meeting I'm laughing about it. I get stressed out over the silliest things. And if anybody is interested, it was 'Waterloo' that was playing on my iPod.
