On the 26th of August -- 88 years ago Tuesday -- women received the right to vote. So, in honor of women's suffrage, I wore a white ribbon around my right wrist today. Pretty cool.
Today was a day the California Caucus honored Democratic Governors.
Gov. David Patterson At California Democratic Caucus BreakfastNew York's Governor David Patterson was the lead off speaker to this morning. He spoke about how the people of California and New York both send more to the federal government than the federal government spends in the states. He got a big round of applause when he pointed out that the state of Wyoming (where Vice President Dick Cheney is from) gets more Homeland Security dollars per capita than any other state -- which he followed with "Is that any way to run a government?" I think that's a pretty excellent question.
