Alright, maybe the Deana Carter 1995 country music hit isn't exactly what you'll get, but in some ways it might be pretty darned close.

Welcome to a culture in which your words will be ignored or given short shrift in many of the venues you'll find yourself. Welcome to catcalls and "the gaze" (if a man finds you attractive,) or to catcalls and dismissal (if a man finds you unattractive.) Welcome to being paid hereafter on a scale of about $.77 compared to $1.00 when you still had that "M" on your identity. Welcome to having to prove yourself in most occupations where you might have simply been given a pass a few years ago.
