Title: Binders

Hey guys. Lately I've been thinking I should start binding, the only problem is, I have no idea what method and no one to ask, one of the disadvantages of living in a small city. So I was hoping some of you guys could give me some advice. Just keep in mind, my solution will need to be store bought as I currently have no method for online payments. I'm currently just using a sports bra. Any advice?

First off, listen to Lane. Ace bandages can mess you up. They get tighter every time you breathe, because they're designed to constrict movement. Anyway...A couple of store-bought methods I've used: 1) two sports bras a bit too small, one worn regularly and the other folded in half so the elastic compresses the largest part of your chest. Makes a weird ridge though, so if you want to wear semi-tight shirts you need one more over that, worn regularly. 2) Neoprene (stuff wet suits are made from) back brace. It's a long rectangle of Neoprene with velcro on the ends, and you should really wear an undershirt under it because it gets sweaty and gross. Both of those methods worked well for me and I'm about a 34 B/C.

Let's tell him which dangerous methods to AVOID.
Anything that constricts breathing at all, of course.
You want to avoid bandages mostly for that reason.
Any other ones people can think of?
My method is one boy's tank top and over it a girl's tank top that's stretchy. This doesn't really act like binding, it acts more like "control." It doesn't make them smaller, really. It only works for me because I already have a small chest.

Definitely check out the thread Arch referenced. As for what not to do, I say don't do anything that would cause permanent damage. Ace bandages, duct tape, all that stuff is dangerous. When you buy a real binder make sure if they have a sizing chart that you go by the chart they have. If you can't breathe in the binder, time to exchange for one size larger.

I am mildly bothered that we can't make recommendations to users. However, I respect Susan's choice in making sure that we do not promote advertising. I understand why the rule exists, and I respect it. It just makes things a little tricky sometimes. :P

I'm not so sure about that one. I think it's okay because it isn't like... public advertising.

The question is, would Adam want us flooding his inbox with PMs :P I wouldn't mind PMing him stuff, but would he? Imagine all the guys in the forums messaging him at once haha

Well maybe a few PMs wouldn't be so bad, but it would be a bit annoying if everyone PMed me at one. My e-mail notifier would go crazy and drive me nuts.

I always thought the no-linking rule was more designed so that their link database would be forced to become more comprehensive, as people would add more links in order to post them.
