Title: binder issues
Post by: Yochanan on October 02, 2008, 12:01:00 PM
I've been having binder issues lately. I've got two, a small black one and a smaller white one.

Whenever I wear either of them (though it's worse with the smaller) they tend to push my chest together. Having that "cleavage" there, even if it's under the binder and under the shirt, drives me nuts. I can forget about them when I'm bound--unless they're all squished together. Does anyone know how to avoid this? I've been using a bit of cloth in between, simply to avoid getting all sweaty (which makes the problem even WORSE), but it's not a very good solution.

Also, with the bigger one, I'm not getting very good compression; it seems to be too loose in the shoulders. I've lost weight recently (went from upwards of 120 to 109-110LBs). Could that be why it doesn't fit anymore? The white one seems too small sometimes, and the black one too big. I don't think there's a size in between, though. =/

I'm mostly worried about the first problem. Any advice?

try shortening the straps of the binder that seems too roomy.

and as for binder cleavage, push your breasts down and toward your armpits so the compression of the binder keeps them held apart, not straight into your chest.

I hear that there is a bit of a method to putting on a binder, and that affects how they are positioned on your chest.

I will try shortening the straps of my larger binder, but I DO try to push them out and down, and they just kind of... slip back up into the middle. =[

Dan, getting into a binder is rather tricky. I find it difficult to position myself until after it's already on. That's kind of my dilemma. When Doc sent me my first binder, he included instructions on how to put it on. One way is to step into it (my method); the other is to somehow "flip" it on over your head, which I cannot for the life of me master. *shrug*

Unconventional advice, but try a piece of medical tape on each side to hold 'em down.  If you have fibrous breasts, they can be stubborn.

Now I just have to figure out where to get medical tape... >_>

Now when i say tape, I mean a piece or two.  Not something you have to cut yourself out of.

I've read enough binding horror stories to know to be really careful. I don't want my skin ripped off or anything. :s

Try laying down when you put the binder on, that should keep them to the side and avoid cleavage.
