At SCC, on Thursday, Oct. 1st, there was a preview of a documentary that CNN is producing on Susan Stanton. Did anyone see it?
In the interest of 'full disclosure', ;D , I've been an employee of CNN for 9 years, as a software developer, and I transitioned here about 5 1/2 years ago. I am not directly involved in the documentary but the producers have sought my input several times.
I would like to hear anyone's thoughts on the video. I would not disclose any identifying information nor where I obtained the information.
I was not able to be at the viewing but I've talked with the producer and he said that the feedback he received from the audience was generally 'unfavorable'. I'd like to hear for myself what people thought.
If you'd like reference of my 'bona fides', both Susan, our Administrator, and BeverlyAnn, Global Moderator, can vouch for me.
Thanks!
Brenda

Sorry, No. What was shown was very early editing of what would be an introductory part of the documentary. No idea how much of what was shown will make the final editing.

I have no hard feeling for the Woman. She put her foot in her mouth and the media helped her.
The one comment that i vaguely remember her saying or someone: "I'm not like those other Transsexual".
I will be watching "Sex Change Hospital" on the WE channel and wont even bother watching CNN do an piece of Susan Stanton.
I'm glad that you were able to transition on the job. When they do a show about you i will watch it!

First she spoke a major faux pas to a reporter. Next thing she fell into the clutches of the Human Rights Campaign which was looking for a ->-bleeped-<- stooge to distract the public from their betrayal of transgender equal rights.
Poor Susan, once she hit the public spotlight she very quickly found herself in over her head, she had no idea what she was walking into. I don't believe she's a bad person at all, just woefully unprepared to be a spokeswoman for us. She seems kind of lost.
