Olbermann: Gay marriage is a question of love
Everyone deserves the same chance at permanence and happiness
SPECIAL COMMENT

Finally tonight as promised, a Special Comment on the passage, last week, of Proposition Eight in California, which rescinded the right of same-sex couples to marry, and tilted the balance on this issue, from coast to coast.
Some parameters, as preface. This isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics, and this isn't really just about Prop-8. And I don't have a personal investment in this: I'm not gay, I had to strain to think of one member of even my very extended family who is, I have no personal stories of close friends or colleagues fighting the prejudice that still pervades their lives.
here's a link where you can comment, I'm going to add mine as soon as I finish posting this.

Thanks very much for these valuable links, Z.
I've spent a fair bit of time reading the comment board, and the blockheadedness of the bible nuts just never ceases to amaze me. My favorite was the man named Philip who opined that gay people have no control or boundaries, including moving on to sex with children and with beasts. This is clearly not the case. After all, Philip is pretty beastly, and is as simple minded as a (rather nasty) child, and yet i feel not the slightest urge to have sex with him. Wow, maybe that means I'm not really gay! :o ::)
