Title: deoderant

I've been using Axe and have recently come to the conclusion that, despite the fact that it smells awesome, it really does not work for me. I'm in the market for a new brand. Any suggestions?

i used to wear tom's of maine woodspice. but can't find it where i moved to.
so i use this adidas sport stuff that doesn't have aluminum in it.
(aluminum may cause breast cancer, or so that's what i hear. not "aluminum" but aluminum-something-something...)

It's really all about personal preference and how much you are willing to spend. I wear Armani Code, but I would not recommend it to everybody because it cost a lot compared to products you can find anywhere, but I use the whole Code line (body wash, shaving creme, etc). Designer items are my preference and I can afford them, plus my girl loves the smell.
I have heard people I am around talk about Axe and they really put the product down as far as smell. I have to admit I have personally never smelled it...just seen it when I was picking up things at the store. This feedback was from men and women, so I would recommend avoiding their products for something that seems to have a better rep.
Just go with what you like, and if there are any women you trust ask them what they think is best from those you picked out. It's normally the safest/best way to go.

I don't think being pre-T would really be a big deal (I could be mistaken) would it? I know I have a hard time having anything consider feminine in my possession that is mine and not my lady's.

Speed Stick is great. (The white stuff, not the gel stuff.) "Shower Fresh" is a great scent -- nice and clean-smelling and not too "Old Spice"-y.

I just use Mennen Speedstick gel. Cheap and seems to work fine. Not much of a smell to it.

Emme, you're right, I am pre-T and I did not take your comment as disrespectful. The whole reason I posted here is because I ran out of Axe, and I had to break out the Secret 'til I can get something else. It's a last resort. =p
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I'll keep them in mind when I look at my choices. I'll probably get something that's not too smelly and some Axe spray, too. I can't help but love the Axe smell...

I used to use plain old Right-Guard when I had to pretend to be a dude... cheep and effective, right about $3.00 around here.

I only mentioned it because Secret is pH balanced. Being on T could alter the effectiveness of it. If something can be found in the men's products that works, that's fantastic. I know a lot of people have a hard time finding something to work though, or it works but only for an hour or two. And it's not that expensive if cost was an issue. Anyway, it was just a thought and I was only trying to help, not disrespect anyone. I know I'd rather wear a man's product that keeps me from stinking than a woman's that left me reeking and with sweat rings everywhere. Yuck. >:(
i gave up on women's deod/anti-persp years ago because it Never Freaking Works on me. I use Gilette Clear Gel in Cool Wave scent. It's like if Brut wasnt obnoxious. It's great.

Um your odor and sweat levels change post T. I use a piece of aluminum crystal. I know the risks you refer to and my breast cancer geneticist said it wasn't true. I am happy with my stone, it works, doesn't have any perfumes or dyes, last about 2 years and has minimal environmental impact.

Been meaning to go look for some nice cologne but haven't had the cash for any actual cologne. Right now I just switch off between Irish Spring bar soap for showers, leaves a nice smell, but it's very faint. I also use Dial bar soap, White Tea and Vitamin E, the soap itself smells lovely, but I haven't noticed it leaving a smell on me.

i use axe clix. its not as strong as ummm dry? whatever i was using before. girly deodorant always smells like public restroom on me, so i use something more piney/spicy. i'd like to try some of that fancy stuff devlin was talking about though....i have a thing for stuff that smells good ::)
as for cologne, i highly suggest black phoenix alchemy lab perfume oils, they have a lot of manly scents and androgynous scents. i also use intimately david beckham. yummy and fairly inexpensive (but it does have that alcoholy cologne scent and doesnt last long)
i'm rambling, i'll shut up now xD

I just use Speed Stick. I like the Ocean Surf. Smells pretty good, and blocks sweat OK. It doesn't have an overpowering scent, and I like that because I'm not out yet, and I don't want to smell too masculine, otherwise I'd be in an even worse position. But it's a good one, been using it for awhile now.

According to John Tesh, you have to switch your deodorant up every once in a while for it to remain effective.

I use Dove Ultimate Clear (the fragrance-free, hypoallergenic one.) It's the most effective deoderant I've ever used. It doesn't smell at all. So no worries about smelling female. Not sure if some guys would feel the outside package is too girly. It's not too girly for me. Then again, given the choice between having asthma attacks or worrying about the appearance of packaging...
An aside note about Axe and other strongly scented stuff: People with asthma and other respiratory conditions might back off from you. Not a reaction to body odor :D but rather, a reaction to fumes! ::)

love rambling
i like woodsy smells too. stuff like that's one of the few things i will spend a little extra on, if it's made to go far. been having a hard time finding anything lately that's NOT "alcoholy" smelling. i used to live where there were all kinds of co-ops and stuff and could get pine deoderant and cypress scented aftershave lotion and it was all wonderful stuff. now all i have is walgreens and walmart!
i may start going so far as ordering toiletries online! lol.
thanks also ->-bleeped-<-boy for the clarification on aluminum and the crystal. always wondered if those work!

I use Axe. I've tried Right Guard but it didn't do much for me. It was the wet kind of deoderant so that's probably why. I'm not sure what would be the best choice for deoderant because everyone's different

I usually use either right gaurd extreme powerstrip or adidas. I've tried a lot of different kinds and found those 2 worked the best for me.

I would recommend using Zirh, Anthony logistics for men, or Corduroy.
Zirh and Corduroy have a light cologne scent, whereas, Anthony has a nice mint scent.
You would probably have to order these online unless your local target carries Corduroy.
If you're interested in cologne. I use Calvin Klien one summer, which is usually just released during the summer. It has a nice fruit scent. I'm starting to look into 212 sexy men (not sure exactly who makes it), but it smells like cinnamon.
Hope it helps.
