HANNAH DAVIES
11/28/2008

A BITTER feud has erupted at a prestigious golf club after it was revealed a leading member was undergoing a sex change.

Male members of Wynnum Golf Club in Brisbane were disgusted when they learned married dad-of-one Don Asher, 52, had begun hormone treatment to become a woman.

Good for her, although I am a bit disturbed at the news coverage.   The author of the linked article gets the pronouns and honorifics wrong through out the article.

I found three other Australian news articles about Dasher, but two of them were duplicates of the article mentioned above.  The third article was based upon that article and makes the same gender mistakes.

Surprisingly, one of the articles has an offensive headline:
"Anger at golfer who swings both ways", which appeared in the Herald Sun.  I realize it is supposed to be a joke, but honestly why do they think the topic is a joking matter?
I suppose the same could be said for the headline of the linked article, although it is not as offensive.
