When it comes to pantyhose, women are in two camps.
They either are ambivalent about them or despise them, and that attitude only begins to shift when the weather turns cold.
Where do transwomen fit into the Great Pantyhose Debate? Depends on the transwoman and what generation she belongs to.

Yep, tights under the pants in winter. At my freelance job I have to wear pantyhose though if I want to wear a skirt.

With a dress or skirt, definitely. In the winter, colored tights are a must. I generally wear regular socks because I wear tennis shoes at work.

Try Danskin, they are only sold in dance stores I think, and they are expensive when compared with WallyWorld or discount tights, but they wear like iron and come in lots of sizes, and tend to fit that way, I think its because so many dancers have long legs. And, because a lot of their tights are also designed for men with thicker legs than women.

No problem, I've been sold on them for years. They cost a lot, but they are almost bulletproof compared to everyday wear stuff. I have pairs that are over ten years old, and still look and feel, and fit just fine.
Oh yeah, they are very thick too. Covers a lot of flaws they do.

The great thing about thigh-highs is there's nothing to pull down -- or back up -- at each trip to the restroom. That down/up, down/up action is what makes pantyhose a pain, with the crotch ending up mid-thigh by noon.
Mechanics and comfort rule!

I find pantyhose too hot and inconvenient. I like thigh highs and with long skirts or slacks I wear knee highs.

If it were all about being convenient I'd never get out of my bathrobe.

I don't see how they could w/o asking you to show them if you had on pantyhose!! Somehow that strikes me as improbable! :)

I hate pantyhose so I actively avoid situations that require them.
So much for taking you to the ballet, opera, or symphony then, pity too, the bon-bons are most excellent.

whats the difference between pantyhose and tights? im confused... as for where transwomen stand, im with tink.. where women in general stand...
I dont mind tights... they are someting to wear to keep me warmer, and make my legs look better. In summer, i go bare legged... winter, leggings or thicker tights...
Lets not forget those more opaque tights for when you forgot to shave that morning :P Im deffinately guilty :P

my granny does ;) i wear thigh highs or stockings instead. they're much less constricting and there's absolutely no need for the ugly panty part if you don't need a girdle.

From what I've understood, it's yet another American / English issue. Elevator is lift, pantyhose is tights, tights is leggings, that sort of thing.

Well, my rhetorical question certainly produced a debate! but yes, I concur with some of you, they are just the most annoying, uncomfortable things ever invented. Just build a fire and burn them all! :P

Thick opaque (even wooly) tights in winter are wonderful ... ;) ...
Sheer sub 10 denier hose is perfect for "dressing up" or "party / formal" when the weather chills, and it still feels so nice on the legs, but it has to be hold ups. But usually I do bare legs with everything ...
Patterned hose and fishnet I wear with my thigh boots when I'm in "skirt mood" in winter ('cept I'm mostly a trousers and jeans girl), and then I'm OK with the "panty" as usually its c...cold !!!
Traditional tan pantyhose on a daily basis sucks !
