I would say yes for a full term.

So much so that I try not to think about it!  :(.  Perhaps in another life, in a different dimension with a different body?  Hopefully?

I'd like to be capable of getting pregnant, but I think actually being pregnant would take a lot of planning and consideration before I'd commit to it.
Also; I wouldn't want to get pregnant for the sake of experiencing pregnancy; I would do it so that I could have a biological child of my own. The pregnancy would simply be a means to an end.
Remember, you're not just committing to 9 months of potential suckfulness, you're committing to a lifetime of parenting.

Eleven: Pregnant women have ugly bellies, can't sleep at night, and screw their backs up.  Too uncomfortable sounding for me.

Twelve: You can't smoke, you can't drink, and you can't really bang too hard.

Thirteen: There's enough 13 year old sluts going around getting pregnant enough for all of America and Mexico.  I'm not gonna add to the, "I'm too young to have a kid but I'll have one anyways" crowd.  College first.  Babies never.

I have had 11 kids in my care through the years, only three were mine, but I am grateful of having had the privilege of having had those children in my care, and I would do it all over again, but this time I just wish I would have the inestimable gift of conceiving and carrying one within myself, even the pain of child birth would be worth it, to hold the very life in my arms that I carried within my womb for the full term of nine months.

I'm not the worlds greatest fan of children. At all. Unless they've been marinated in a light soy sauce for a couple of hours, pan-fried in a good peanut oil and served with a side salad of fresh rocket and fennel. And only then if they're not too chewy. :icon_chew: ;)

The "yes, for a short while" choice is a puzzler. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child after "a short while." I cannot imagine losing one and being quite sane again even now. Parents should, in a happy world, die before their children.

I voted for the first opinion but I am not sure. I would not like to be MTF that comes pregnant but I would like to be a cis-woman that comes pregnant.

Props to you, Emme. Harsh, maybe so, but sometimes lots we need to hear also seems very harsh when we hear it. It's just the way of things.

It hadn't occurred to me that the originator was a CD. Perhaps that man, or many men, obviously not all as one sees and reads the love and care of tekla and others for their children, making the thread may have taken a bit more lightly things that ... well ... just don't seem all that light to women. I hope, now that I realize that ... ... I hope that the originator meant well, meant some harmless smirk. But just the thought ... the possibility ... always there that my babies are gone ... forever ... while I sit in ashes pleading to join them ... it's not good thoughts ... not something I can make a joke about ... and not having carried them, at least one ... also not a joke.

To be a mother and all that it entails is something I truly long for.  My child from my womb.  *sigh*  So many women cannot conceive and I am one of them.  But I love the children I have with all my heart.

I have so many blessings, I can't count them all.  This is one disappointment that I can accept.

Right now hell no. Im not good with children and they require so many sacrifices in life im definatly not willing to give up.
Beside if I ever had a kid karma would have a chance to get back at me I would have the most argumentative brat in history.

However since I acknowledge that people change ill put maybe since im still young.

I'd love to have a biological mother/child relationship, and would of course do the pregnant thing to have that, but wouldn't be looking forward to BEING pregnant for the sake of being pregnant I don't think. At least not all the nasty stuff that goes with it, although I'm guessing "going through all that" contributes to creating that particular bond.

But having never had kids, I'm really just guessing here...

I have lost one.
I posted this to a friend on another board the other day when I was feeling blue. I may have also posted it on some other thread here as well.

I lost my son 8 years ago in a senseless automobile accident. He was 20 years old. He got hit by a truck while crossing the highway. He had been troubled over the loss of a girl friend. I have no way of knowing what was going through his head that night and what he had been doing that night.

I had 11 children go though my home over the years: a nephew and three nieces, my own three, two girls and the one I lost. I had one foster child who grew up to be a beautiful, hard- working young lady. My two daughters have done well for themselves, one is a child psychologist and the other is a manager of some chain of stores. I also had a friend who left her three children in my care for two years. That was 6 years ago.

Oh yes, I do know about the loss of a child and the empty nest syndrome, but yes, I am filled with many good memories and it is these memories that come to mind during holidies. The hardest part I suppose is the holidays.

I would go full term in a heartbeat.  Many children are unplanned.  I have 'fathered' four children, I would love to be the Mother just once.  Adopting is always a choice.  I was 54 years ago and I love both my parents, who are gone now.

Due to my age, the question could have been, "Would you like to have ever been pregnant?" Anyway, I answered the first option.
Then I got to thinking about how women get to be pregnant and had second thoughts,  :o My answer would still be the same if I didn't have to participate in "the act"! :laugh: ::)
I watched my wife all through pregnancy and my child being born. I remember wanting more than anything for both of us to be going through the same experiences she was having, although at that time I couldn't have uttered the words. I have since told her how I felt and she says she understands fully. :)

I would give allmost  anything for this to happen, sadly it never will :'(
I even know how it would have to happen, and it is still worth just the one time.

it's a real regret of mine that I could never be pregnant. Now I am too old, even if I were a gen fem. but i sure would have liked to. I have dreamt that i was pregnant, and i was so happy about it, and genuinely distressed when I woke up and realized it wasn't real.

As for the getting that way, I would need a gf who is handy with a turkey baster!

After reading some of the replies here I really wish it were possible to donate my womb. Such a shame to waste one on me when there are plenty of women, trans and non, who would kill for a working womb.  :icon_no:

If I were 20 years younger I'd be first in line. One of these days, probably not in my lifetime, they may actually be able to do that.

But I am quite humbled and happy to have had 11 children pass under my roof through the years, even if they were atained vicariously, to me they were my children and I loved them just as much as if they had been mine.

I said no. I'd like the ABILITY to carry a child full term, but I really don't want kids. I'm a very selfish person and couldn't see myself sacrificing so much for a child. I know, that's a horrible thing to say, but it's honest.

Elizabeth hon no that is an option, nothing to do with being selfish. I have known a few women who chose not to have kids until much later in life, or not at all because of career and such. Or as some have said, they would sooner not bring up a child in such a cruel world.

Either way is a good choice  as I see it. There would be no sense in bringing s child into this world unless it was to love and care for that child, and to be proud to be the mother of that child. But if for whatever  reason, your life does not include rearing children, then why conceive one?

I on the other hand could not have my own children for obvious reasons so I had then in my care 8 vicariously and three my own. I did it because I love children and for those years I had them under my roof they were all that I truly lived for at the time, they were a good part of my life.

If it would have been possible to have personally given birth to all 11 of those children I would have been proud to do so. Have any idea how it feels to be walking down the sidewalk of your home town with three or four children in tow like a proud mommy duck and her ducklings. ;D

I feel much the same way as Eliza and Kara.  I love kids, I have a lot of patience with them and I think they're adorable, especially when they're little babies.  But to actually take care of one 24/7, and have to actually be a mother...?  That's a lot different from babysitting for a few hours at a time.  That's so much responsibility, and it feels to me as though it would take over my life, since having kids has never been something I looked forward to or even wanted.  Unless something huge changes in what I want out of life, I don't want to have kids.  The last thing I would want is to feel bitterness toward an innocent child who would deserve the absolute best I can give.

Even if I did want kids, I could never give birth.  I'd be quaking in fear of the pain.  But I admit, I am very curious about how being pregnant must feel.

I doubt a refund, but you can turn them in more or less.  SafePlace and other programs take babies that no one wants so that they are not just abandoned.

Well... We could use babies as a power source like the matrix. Make rows and rows of babies to power us into a bright future.

• you'd have to undergo a C-section.
• I wouldn't be surprised if that happens within the next 20 years.

NO way!!! I hate kids and I hate having them. They are just an effing burden. What's the use having them when one day they will finally leave you. I often curse my dad for 'creating' me and then abandoning me for what I am.

As much as I hate being trans I think the only blessing as a trans woman is not being able to bare a child. I feel SAFE and relieved from that burden.

Yes, I definitely would if was possible. My wife and I talked about this before. She has a mild case of Spina Bifida and not only is it possible for a child to inherit it, it would be difficult for her to carry a child. We finally decided that if we were to have children, we would adopt.

I changed anought nappies to be able to put up with the result of being preg. But pregnacy its self? i think thats somthing ive dreamed about since i found out that wear babies come from. (loves babies)

Complicated question for me. Going strictly by the original question, would I like to be pregnant, no, no, HELL no. Gotta watch what you eat, drink, get super sore and swollen, can't do alot of activities, etc.

Where, for me at least, it gets complicated is, if the question was, would you like to give birth and be a mother.

On the one hand, the 8-9 months (depending on when you find out) would suck ass, as stated above. I'm also sorts selfish I think; I have lots of things I want to do with life, such as travel, and kids interfere with that big time. Kids can also be quite a burden and they cost a ton!

On the other hand, kids can be such cuties and it is such a huge part of being human, or well alive I guess, that I would miss out on, having children of my own and caring and raising them. Seeing them go from tiny, helpless, cute little things (when they are not crapping themselves or crying or puking..) to kids to going on to become  (hopefully successful) adults and being there with them throughout it all and seeing their ups and downs, successes and failures, and knowing that you made them; I mean, I just imagine that it has got to be the greatest feeling in the world to go through with all that and be a part of it.

I would love to have all the correct plumbing to make it happen but would I want it to happen? At the moment, being that I am still somewhat young, I guess my answer would be, if it happened, great, if it didn't happen, oh well.

You can do anything pregnant that you did before. No activity limit unless health gets to be an issue. Just like anyone else.

All my sisters pointed that out. (Youd be surprised how an @ss of a bf can suddenly attempt to be a gentlman.)

One sister wrote out a whole list of what being pregnant didnt mean.

Titled I became pregnant Not incaperble.

listing things like.
Being pregnant does not mean I can no longer open a door.
or I can no longer make my own food.
or carry shopping.
ect ect.

To be honest I think it might actualy of been written poeticaly.

if it was possible yes full term but since it isn't as far as i know i would adopt so that way i would still get to be a parent and give a troubled or unfortunate child a better life even if he/she isn't my biological flesh and blood i would still raise him/her as my own the best i could

No. I really don't like babies. Plus I like being able to sleep. Also, childbirth is incredibly painful.
