Nah, overcoming phobia, at least conceptually, is important for me because I'm OCD. Overcoming a phobia is like overcoming any other unwanted thought or behavior - it's why I used to go indoor rock climbing (I'm acrophobic as well).
Although that "sand surrounded by an island" definitely stirs up some Peter Pan imagery, there... :D
