The Courage Campaign has launched an amazing and heartbreaking new community photo project called Please Don't Divorce to put faces to the 18,000 married same-sex couples facing the possibility of being forcibly divorced in California.
Kenneth Starr, the right-wing prosecutor whose investigation led to Bill Clinton's impeachment over the Monica Lewinsky scandal, has filed a legal brief on behalf of Yes on 8 to nullify marriages performed between May and November 2008.

Considering Kenneth Starr's success in the Clinton impeachment, I am actually happy the other side has him for counsel. The amount of money that the American people have spent on him so far, should show us how much nothing actually costs. :D

I would not underestimate Ken Star. Nor the resources these people are putting up. That's exactly the thinking that got us to this spot in the first place. The pro-marriage forces were so busy celebrating they they forgot to run a real campaign until it was too late.
On the other hand, he will be going up against Jerry Brown, no slouch either.

the h8ters had an extremely coordinated, expensive campaign. We must counter them with due haste and all possible force! These people would like to see us disappear from the planet. The best thing one can do about this is get involved in the queer campaigns near you. Almost every city has one fighting against H8, and many are even arranging carpools to get out to Cali for the important moments in this struggle.

The important moment in the struggle is going to be the court case, and, again, as always, I implore people who are not residents and tax payers in the State of California to keep the hell out of our political issues. Fight your own fights at home. Really. Please. I think it sucks that people from out of state, in particular the LDS and Vegas casinos gave money to the other side, but in reality what you propose is no better.
If you want this to happen, do it in your state, or on a national level. Really, people in California don't need outside help in protesting.

Nevermind the $8- to $10-million 'individual' Mormons donated to Yes on H8 -- put a dollar figure on the organization, leadership, and body-hours that they also 'donated' (via canvassing and phone banks and ???) to the Yes campaign. The actual money they wrote checks for is insignificant to that contribution.
