Title: New Year's Resolutions
Post by: Sophie90 on December 27, 2008, 01:51:15 PM
I'm not really a new year's resolutions kinda girl/guy...

But I'm screwing up rather epically at the moment, no more of that.

So mine are;
- Stop wasting so much money/stick to a budget. I don't need any more clothes. Or DVDs. I DON'T.
- Lose some weight. Otherwise I actually will need new clothes.  :-\
- Broaden my diet beyond the realms of tea, coffee, toast, sandwiches and curry.
- Sleep at the times common to the rest of the human race. No one else is online between the hours of 3am and 9am anyway. It's time for bed.
- Do something about my hair. (I don't know what yet.)
- Put at least some effort into Uni. I'm stuck here for 2 and a half more years, deal with it.
- Go to at least one music festival. (Reading 08 made my LIFE. Still wearing the wristband. ;D)
- Investigate the possibility that a certain someone refers to me as "a certain someone".
- Drink more.
- Smoke more.
- Make better resolutions for '10.

Fire away folks.

1. learn to drive some form of vehicle.
2. no more pets... that is... after the goldfish and the giant land snails (thats my limit... NO MORE!!!!)
3. stablize debts just that little bit more... i am geting there
4. buy more games
5. become more like Steve Irwin.... be an idiot.
6. spend more time with my friends... they miss me.

I thinks thats it... if i think of anymore, i'll add them ^________^

Interesting, futile practice of humans.

1. Stop gaining weight. Not losing, mind you, but stop gaining. I think that's easier than actually losing.
2. Study more Japanese
3. Learn to strum something in the guitar
4. Re-acquaint myself with the experience of reading something not on a computer.
5. Have famazing sex and less body hangups (yeah good luck with that, right)
6. Beat Order of Ecclesia... just because it's there ;)

I can't think of any.  I have a few projects I want to complete, but I'm working on them, so its not like I have to resolve to do it.

Find an austerity budget that will let me pay my bills, pay child support, legal bills and survive.

Stay away from bankruptcy, if at all possible.

Keep staying positive while I work my way through the finances of the next couple years.

Get my book published.

Stay close to my kids.

Find some way to get my students to get their butts in gear and work.

Don't let my ED go too far.
Actually talk to someone before I act on urges.

That's about it.
I'm not very ambitious, or even confident that I'm going to keep the two that I have.

#1.  Loose weight.  Yuck,  after surgery this year I had to take it easy for 4-5 weeks and really put on the pounds, boy did not see that coming.

#2 Stay within budget

#3  Try at least 2 new things this next year.

#4  See Number 1 above

I can see it becoming quite important for food security in the next few years, especially in the developing world. I live in an emerging economy, and we had major riots here when there was that food scarcity early in 2008.

Japan gave up 1/2 of its rice stockpile (which is a huge amount) last year, can't wait till this year.  Wait till food riots hit the first world.

My resolutions for the New Year ....

  • Be Honest .... with myself
  • Be Honest ..... with my spouse, family & close friends

    • About ... Who I truly am, coming out, what I've done so far & where I am headed
    • Also About ... Life in general and not telling people always what they want to hear, but rather the truth and what they may not always want to hear
  • Clean House
  • Get debt under control, and begin working on reduction

That's my two-cents coming into this New Year.  By the way .... Happy New Year to everyone and may the New Year bring a renewed sense of peace, love and happiness throughout the world.

1. Do more good things.
2. Do less bad things.

2 is easy, 1 is hard... I spose it should really be, 'Do Something'.

- Smoke more.

I thought I was the only one who had decided to do that.  Of course, after I did that all of my smoking friends stopped smoking (pregnancy, etc.) or moved, and I have vowed to never spend money on cigarettes, so there went that.  I actually haven't smoked since last New Year's.
Anyway, now for my first New Year's Resolutions ever.
1. Be more polite, even though I'm not rude.
2. Get my license.
3. Get some babysitting jobs.
4. Come out.
5. Write more.

Break free of the cycles which rule my life, and in turn start ruling them.

Rule my art
Rule my brain, and stop it from betraying me all the time
Update my comic again
Get into art school
Be independent without being bitter towards people, cause even if I'm selfish that doesn't help ME.
