Title: feeling about a billion times better about the whole situation =D

I was on the phone with my mom and I don't recall what I said, but she said jokingly, "At least you're not a transsexual!" (It's a running joke in our family, as my other mom's trans.) Anyway, I kind of said, "You'd hate me if I was transsexual, huh?" And she told me that of course she wouldn't hate me, but I was just so young that I couldn't be sure. She asked, joking, "What, are you going to go have a penis attached?" I said "NO!" because I certainly don't want bottom surgery, and then I said, "A person can be transgender without necessarily being transsexual." Her reaction was, again, that I'm really young, am living in the house with a transperson, and couldn't be sure of anything until I had time out on my own, away from other influences (my transmom) to figure things out. I told her she was absolutely right.

So while I didn't come out and tell her, I'm beginning to realize that she knows a lot more than I give her credit for. And this little bit of conversation made me feel like, whenever I do decide to officially come out, that she won't disown me or anything. God, I feel so relieved! SO RELIEVED!!!!
