So, tonight I was sitting in the boozer.

On the table I was at, for a while, I was the only "girl", and there were 10 guys with me.

I was drinking tasteless American lager strait from the bottle.


And I loved it :D

Best way to drink good beer is from the bottle. And you gotta drink it right, where there's enough room to let air in so you can chug... A technique I notice a lot of girls don't have quite down. :P

Take it from a aussie, the best way to drink beer is out of a tap and in a pot & ice cold.

Can you explain what this experience has to do with being male?  did the men in your company view you as a man?  If not, i'm inclined to say that this is an experience of enjoying male company, not of having  "really male moment."

I would think that people can tell when they are being treated like 'one of the boys' or the only girl with 10 guys pretty easy.

I know that, Tekla.   But there was no mention in the post.

I think most of us reading it got that from the context. Otherwise, how on earth could you enjoy tasteless beer? ;)

While the inference is there, I was doubting the reality.

Well, it was an internal thing for me. I just felt male in a way I can't quite explain.

People don't see me as a man, but I doubt they see me as a normal woman either. But they probably don't give it all that much though. :p

i feel what you're saying, blueflare. i remember one time i was drinking a 40, eating steak, and playing grand theft auto with my buddy. i was just like "damn i'm such a guy!" haha. i mean, these things are all just stereotypical guy things that women can easily enjoy too. but doing more "masculine" things, yeah it does make you feel more male sometimes. my buddy told me he jus sees me as one of the guys. but at the same time a lot of my friends who are girls say they see me as one of the girls. haha i guess everyone jus loves me  :P

Totally male moment tonight: I was in the basement doing laundry when I realized what I was wearing also needed to be washed.  So I stripped to my briefs and tee shirt and tossed them in the washer.

Why is this a male moment?  There are 5 uncovered basement windows and 8 houses that have full view of my house (it's on a corner) which means anyone in the neighborhood could see in.  And I was like, who cares?  What are they going to see?  My bulge??

In female mode I would never have done this; far too modest (embarrassed) to have my lumps seen or be in my underwear in a (potentially) public place.

i dont usually feel a really strong identification with either gender (though i lean towards male 90% of the time), but today in the hardware store, i just kinda felt....part of it. yeah its pretty stereotypical, but it wasn't like i thought of it as "oh hey, i'm doing something boyish", it was more like "i feel like one of them" if you know what i mean.

its completely unlike when i was in JCpenny's recently in line behind a bunch of ladies buying xmas presents for their husbands/sons/etc, i just felt completely different from them and realized they probably thought i was buying the men's clothes for my husband/son/whatever. it was sortof a "wow" moment for me xD

Eons ago- before Star Wars, I did a training class in pubs in the UK. " Always make the girls glass pretty with fruit and stuff" The guys will just chug beer to pay for it"
