Kathleen Turner and Charles Busch are set to co-star in MCC Theater's The Third Story, but which one is the drag queen? Both of these big-boned babes have a resonant stage presence and look great in a bustier. Busch's newest play, like the others before it (The Lady in Question, Die, Mommie, Die!), features strong female characters so over-the-top that they could only be played by a bald man in a girdle. But in Turner, Busch has found a bona fide fembot to match his signature style. Hopefully, the play, which draws inspiration from sci-fi B-movies and 1940s Hollywood noir, is sturdy enough to contain its leading ladies.
