Title: Chicago?

So Serra (my MtF GF) has finally agreed to go see a therapist. She is self medicating her HRT which worries me. She is also currently extremely depressed, which worries me too. She used to see a doctor but didn't get along with him (as far as I know) and her Effexor prescription from that doc has run out, so I think that's contributing. In our conversations I keep bringing up the fact that if transition is something she truly wants to see through, she'll have to go see a therapist eventually becuase she'll need letters for surgery.
So anyway she's finally agreed to go see someone (yay!). My question is, does anyone know of a good gender therapist in the Chicago area (specifically north suburbs, Evanston area)? I told her I would help look for someone to see.
Thanks!

I vote for Howard Brown also. My psych is there. Another option is Susan O'Dell. She is my therapist.

I vote them too, not only do they have a sliding pay scale, but their own endo specialist and pharmacy. The pharmacy also had a discount so even if you didn't have insurance the cost was cheaper, even hrt meds.
...least that was all true 2 years ago.

Another option is the Center on Halsted. They also offer counseling on a sliding scale.
