Title: Ma'am'ed again.
Post by: Hazumu on August 13, 2006, 07:06:38 PM
'Twas after my run, and I decided to stop at one of those 7-11-sized auto parts stores (I had my transmission rebuilt last week.  $2019.87 with a 2-year warranty, but somehow one of the vacuum line nipples got busted and now the cruise control doesn't work... ) Anyway, I was looking for the battery tray and went in.

I was still dressed in my exercise stuff -- a grey spandex tank with shelf bra, and tank shorts with a StephieGaff©®™ on underneath.  I was waiting in line behind the customer who was being helped, and idly eyeing the impulse buys on the shelf (UV fluorescent transmission additive, anyone?) when I heard the counter guy say "Can I help you ma'am?" and heard a female voice in the aisle behind answer, "No, just looking..."  I looked up and the counter guy was looking at me--

I explained what I was looking for (battery tray for a yadda yadda yadda...) and he looked it up on the computer, but it was the wrong part, so he went to ring out the customer who was ahead of me.  Another sales droid approached the counter and said, "Have you been helped, ma'am?"

...I gotta show off my dinky A-cups more often  ;D ;D ;D

That's great. But honestly, Karen, from that photo I would be very surprised if you were ever not ma'amed. There is nothing male about you. :)

Awwww Hugs Karen....

It feels great when that happens, re-enforces all the positive stuff and build up that self esteem and confidence.

4 years post op, the thing I still get the biggest buzz from is being called Ma'am or Madam..... Happens everytime now, but the excitement still the same (and will never go away)

Can I help you maam?
Four simple words that can make a day.
Questions asked by drones that say
We are finally acknowledged
for who we want to be.

It's just the beginning
for the road we're paving
Other stones will fall into place.

Each beginning means we're winning
and lays another down with grace.

I was totally floored the first time that happened to me, my winter clothing is somewhat "A" sexual, a clerk was helpping me at our local  Wally world and she said Ma'am I think we have what your looking for over............

I've had that question asked several time regarding my ex.  In fact I just was asked if I was her sister.  I said "No, but we are related" and left it at that.

Yay Karen!!

Not only did you get ma'amed twice in one store, but ladies in auto parts stores are way cool.  I'm so happy for you.

Well, I was just trying to be honest without outting myself.  We even had a little girl talk after that.
