Title: Stopping HRT

So, I've been reading through a lot of posts, and I've noticed that some people stop HRT and then start back up again.
If it isn't prying to much, I am curious why people stop, and then start back up.
Is it because you can't afford it, bad side effects, or other reasons?

I started while married and kids still at home. No one knew. Guilt got the best of me and so I stopped. Then I started again and repeated the same cycle. It wasn't until the kids were grown and I was divorced that I got back on HRT and stayed on it.
I've never had any bad side effects from HRT but I have had some very good side effects. My cholesterol "scores" went from marginal to the picture of perfect health. My doctor told me it would take a truck to kill me. 8)

I Stopped for awhile because of my daughter. I wish I hadn't done it. Here 2 years later, I'm having to go through the whole process again.

I stopped for about 3 weeks due to financial hardships. It was the worst 3 weeks of my life!

I stopped for a while because I felt scared that things were happening too fast for me. I wasn't ready for the more obvious changes to become apparent. I didn't want people to point their fingers at me. Really I need not have worried because I have comparatively low dosage and the changes have come, and are still coming, only very slowly, which suits me fine.

I stopped only two weeks, for two reasons. 1 was about to run out before could get more, 2 I was using androgel and my family wouldn't let me touch my sister for even a quick hug while was using it. They were afraid she would get contact with it and I became afraid of that myself. She's a beautiful girl didn't want to mess her up even slightly.

I stopped for one year back in '98 after being on HRT for six years.
Was in West Africa and didn't know how to get hormones there, it was a very poor and underdeveloped country.
