Post by: HelenW on March 06, 2009, 10:58:33 AM
A friend asked me to publish this in order to generate as much participation as possible.  If anyone knows a medical service provider that belongs to the GLBT family/community, please forward this.

Thanks!

QuoteWe Need Your Help: Recruiting for Physician Survey

Dear Friend,

The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) and the American Medical Association are working together to study physicians' perspectives on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues in healthcare. We have developed a survey to collect information about physicians' experiences, practices and attitudes related to their LGBT patients, as well as their experiences of discrimination against themselves, their patients, and their colleagues. This survey will help us understand physicians' experiences so that we can develop policies and programs that best serve the needs of LGBT individuals.

Last month, GLMA physician members were invited to participate in the survey.

We are now launching the second phase of this survey, which aims to recruit all LGBT-identified physicians, regardless of their membership status with GLMA.

If you are a physician: Please consider taking 10 to 15 minutes to complete this online survey. Go to www.glma.org/physiciansurvey (http://www.glma.org/physiciansurvey).

Also, please forward this email to your physician colleagues who may be interesting in participating.

If you are not a physician: Please forward this message to any colleagues who are LGBT-identified physicians.

GLMA is also planning on developing future surveys to explore issues of discrimination and patient care within other disciplines. Please stay tuned for more information about how you can participate in future surveys.

To participate: Go to www.glma.org/physiciansurvey (http://www.glma.org/physiciansurvey) to participate in the survey or to learn more about this project.

Thank you for your help. We truly value your collaboration in our research.
