I first glance my guess is how is your happiness about being TG. Since I am currently very unhappy  :'( I guess I am cursed by my Gender.

I chose neither because I just am what I am.  I don't look at it as a blessing or a curse - just another thing in life.

I put both.  It's wonderful being able to understand both sides.  It's terrible at the cost that it requires.

Hello Emerald.
Very good question.
I chose "gender-cursed", but I just got out of the shower so my answer may change in an hour or so.

My feelings on this depend on certain factors. If I couldn't transition, if I have to go the rest of my days with these two hideous growths on my chest, and being perceived as a "large, aggressive butch woman"
then I am cursed.
Now, if I transition (and while I have hope about transition), then I am blessed.
In that case, it doesn't bother me having been born this way.
Sure, had I been born anatomically correct, life would be so much easier, and I may be tall and handsome like my father (or not), but I seriously doubt I would be ME.
I wouldn't be the same person I know and love, so I wouldn't wish it any other way.

Not one or the other. I was the born the way I was for a reason, no mistake by God. I had a very good childhood as a tomboy, and a very interesting, non boring life as a woman and a man.

Gender blessed.

How many have the opportunity to have lived in two genders?

I'm so happy that I found my way home.

I put both. I'm blessed with my gender. It is great to be female.
But also cursed for what it is doing to my relationship with my wife.
After the joined theropy session we had tonight i'm down.

I said gender blessed. I've had to look at some things that most people simply accept as true and never need to examine. Plus I've gotten over that whole "I can't do that because of my gender" thing. My new motto is what's the point of being transgendered if you're going to restrict the experiences you'll allow yourself to have.

Blessed...

Being in touch with both sides gives you so much more insight into the mystery of gender...

You understand both where men and women are coming from...

That kind of empathy can be helpful in life...

I put both as I feel very blessed to be who I am. I love being female, but on the other side of the coin I would not put this on any other person. It was hell in my first 50 years of life. If I would not have had this my life would have been so much happier or if I could have transitioned earlier then my life would have been a lot happier. So it was a curse in a way but it has been a blessing as I have always seen things that other guys didn't. I tried to hide them but I saw a lot of good in people and I have always tried to nurture people. I guess I was a nurturer as I was the so called man of the house, I think I became the wife, housekeeper and babysitter all in one final swoop at age 8 or 9. I took it on and I feel that was a blessing that my brother and sister had someone to come home to. I got married early and had more kids, didn't learn my lesson did I? LOL So it is a blessing.

I have been thinking about this one since you put it here, looking at it each day and not responding.  I guess both would have to be the answer.

Cursed because the first part of my life was so miserable and blessed because I realized the problem and corrected it by transitioning.

As I concluded in my book:

I have had the unique opportunity to see life from both sides; male and female.  I have lived much more than a full life.  I have lived two lifetimes.  No one should be so blessed.

It is a wonderful life.  There have been some very tough times.  That makes victory all the sweeter.

Till now I have considered myself gender-cursed and I think that this will be my opinion till (and if) I'll be able to be finally myself.
Anyway I am trusting that my opinion will be different then, but now that I feel like a secret agent behind the enemy lines I am unable to see the good that there is in any experience.
Neverless, I have to say that my perspective is changing and I have to thank all of you for this.

I was gender cursed. My life would be a happier one had I been able to live as the female gender.

I would now change my answer to gender-cursed.  I have gone from one hell into another.  First I had to suffer all my life living in the wrong life and body and now that I'm transitioning, my parent hate me and I am going through an awful divorce.

Sorry to hear that Melisa.

If you can change your vote then I can change my vote. I am through my awfull depression period - I am open and now can start to enjoy being TG. Both a curse and blessing for me. I get to see both side of the fence.

I answered both.

I hated being male and I hate having to carry the burden of being TS. All the intolerance out there, not to mention my own discomfort, and just when I seem to be hitting it off with somebody I have to reveal this and they drop me like a hot potato.

On the other hand, just that I get to know the wonders of having an outwardly female appearance/presentation, seeing my physique feminizing more and more, and not having to disguise my real self... for me that's what makes life worth living.

I say I'm gender cursed, because it causes me so much pain and derives me of so much things that make a normal person's life happy and worth living, but then again I think if I would have never come to the realization, I wouldn't think the same way. I probably would still be religious, I'd probably still make fun of homosexuality(I've never really done it, but what if I would have never realized?), I wouldn't be open-minded and I wouldn't strive to make the world a better place for everyone.

...but as they say, "Ignorance is bliss." It may be true, and I know being "informed" hurts, but the truth must be told, right?

Even though I hate the pain, I'm glad for some reason that I'm not so ignorant, maybe I'm still ignorant in some areas, but it's better then what I was.

Did that make any sense to any of you? I often make no sense. :( :D

I say Gender cursed cause all my life I was forced into the male roll. I really hated
being typecast as male. Hated being male even though I did enjoy some things
that come a little easyer as male. But once I began to discover my feminine self
the more I explored the more female I felt and continue to feel. I'm sure my opinion
will be different later on. My perspective now has changed a lot because of all of
      here. And it's still changing.

I said I was Gender Blessed.  Having blurred the lines between Male and Female, I understand each end of the spectrum better than if I were one or the other.

For those trapped in the wrong body and dealing with the harm it can cause to relationships, it is easy to see why Gender Cursed would be their selection.  To you, all my love and prayers.

While I've had some extremely difficult and painful times during this journey of discovery, I still answered gender-blessed. My place between genders is a unique gift, even if it hasn't always been apparent as to how or why. :) It will take a full lifetime to truly understand and utilize this gift to its fullest potential.

I consider myself blessed to be androgynous.  It makes life complicated at times, but I could not imagine giving up any part of either my masculine or feminine sides--it is simply who I am and I like being who I am.

I've thought about it and thought about it and I've come to the conclusion that making a judgement, bad or good, doesn't do or change anything so . . .

I'd rather not choose.  Aye yam what aye yam!
