No Or Both Gender Male Female Restroom Sign - Gender Neutral Restroom Bathroom SignFrom Opposing Views's OPINION: Maryland Gender Identity Bill Endangers Women and Kids:
Women and children will face one of the greatest threats to privacy, safety and security that Maryland residents have ever known with the passage of a "Gender Identity" bill now before Maryland House and Senate legislators.
The proposed law adds a broadly defined category of "gender identity" to the state's existing anti-discrimination law. Because the bill's broad definition of "gender identity" includes "expression and behavior," men are not required to have undergone a sex change operation. The Maryland Retailers Association has purportedly agreed to allow men to enter women's bathrooms.

If we have it their way, what about the little boys who'll be peeing next to Eddie?

It can change, and has changed in several places, but only because people got together and worked to change it.

As a single dad with two daughters who were not fully house broken when I HAD to take custody of them, I find the whole thing pretty ridiculous. I ended up in both restrooms at one time or another with both of them, and I was not even wearing panties at that point in time. I actually had some women "do lookout duty" while I was helping the child balance on the toilet seat. They just asked me to turn my head when they went into the stall or adjusted a bra strap or garter belt. At a later time in the girls' lives, I even had to find ways to get pocket change into the women's rest rooms when they had not done their calendar work. Even when I had to take them into the men's restrooms it was spur of the moment enough that any determined annoyer would not have had time to get his act together, or his circus tent up. >:-)
My youngest daughter is now thirty, and was the gutsy one who actually turned in a guy who was jerking off in his car parked beside a well traveled pathway to the local Jr. High School. She saw enough to figure out what he was doing, and then she looked at the dodo's license plate instead of his gearshift apparatus. Three of her school chums were actually mad at her since they had been looking at the guy's source of display, and not with horror!!! They were embarrassed to have to tell their mothers how long they had watched with interest. The mothers were also embarrassed by how much the daughters had know, and "family education" was still a year in their future. :P
Now I do use the women's rest rooms, and no one yet has bothered me, even if they come in with either gender small child . The biggest reason is that they are paying too much attention to the child to see the big bad crossdresser. Sigh!!! :( :( :( :( :(

I think the greatest danger is not the gender issue. It's small children being unaccompanied. A lone child being in a restroom with a stranger is not good. Personally I have only been approached, as an adult, twice. Once in a gay bar restroom and that was to be expected. Once at the YMCA in San Diego. The guy was very forward. He just asked. My response, Uh, no thanks I'm trying to quit.

The thing I've never understood about this argument is why they think that there's anything to stop any man from entering a ladies room. We are no threat. We're women after all. Do they thing the little woman symbol will keep out a man who intends harm? ???
