hey people. im new to the forum looking for advice and information really. i am currently female. living in the uk. I havent taken many steps towards towards becoming who i really i am. i guess i am a bit scared really. I have known since i was 17 how i felt. I am 22 now and finally feel ready to make the steps towards becoming a man. just not sure how to go about it and how to get over the initial fears

Welcome to Susan's, Glory.

You sound a lot like me. I'd finally figured out some of my gender issues but didn't know where to begin or where to turn. This is a great time to load up on information, and Susan's is a great place to get info. :D

Be sure to read the forum rules and all that jazz.

Also check out the FtM section for information on female to male transition- https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html)

i have researched it all on the internet for 5 years now, but most of the information on there is about how to proceed with it in america, the way the UK work is still a mystery to me lol.
finally told my partner a little while ago and it went really well so thats a plus side i guess. I feel as though i am in a place where i can start to do something about how i feel.
I already have short hair and dress in male clothes. i couldnt bind until i had told my partner tho haha. havent found the courage to tell my friends or start requesting to go by male pronouns yet. even though i want to.

Hey dude,
nice to meet you!

A good place to start is to get yourself a good gender therapist. In many countries you will need one if you want to get hormone therapy etc. They can help you sort out your transition, how to come out, how to deal with your fear.

Fear is a tough one. You're welcome to talk about your fears and share them on this site. A lot of people are likely to have gone through the same things as you and may be able to offer some helpful insight.

Hey savin. I'm not from the UK, but many here are. I assume you just tell the gp and they'll tell you where to go or set something up.

Hi Savin,   :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 1900 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another brother.   :icon_hug:
