This editorial take on the safety of Greeley, Colorado by the Greeley Tribune (April 5, 2009), entitled, Statistics Don't Confirm City's Crime-Ridden Rep, frankly doesn't alleviate my personal fears about traveling to their city to report on the Angie Zapata murder trial.

...But maybe the hardest reputation to shake has to do with crime [in Greeley]. Many high-profile cases and discussion of crimes committed by gangs has spurred assumptions throughout the state that Greeley is crime-ridden and has a huge gang problem.
