Anybody know where I can get reliable trans statistics such as suicide rate, numbers, numbers of transgendered children, etc?
I don't know where to go that's reliable. Please help.

There are no reliable stats. Only guesses.

Nero, i am taking a suicide prevention course and there are quite a few links to stats nationwide but none that address transgender specifically there are many online sources for information, one is called WISQARS at http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/wisqars/ (http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/wisqars/) if if you are interested in suicide prevention courses NCSPT is a good one, just google it.
The stats are hard to get but somewhere around 50% of transgendered youth have thought of suicide, 30% had unsuccessful suicide attempts. hope this helped.
Paula.

I believe tekla is right. I don't think there are any reliable, or even partial reliable statistics for this, Nero.

Regarding prevalence, you could read this:
http://ai.eecs.umich.edu/people/conway/TS/TSprevalence.html (http://ai.eecs.umich.edu/people/conway/TS/TSprevalence.html)
Obviously biased, but she makes good points. She does present the other side as well, so you can get an idea of the range the guesses cover at least. I'd say the number is clearly higher than the conservative estimates, but probably lower than the extreme end presented here.
