Title: hormones and a facelift?
Post by: cristina on April 16, 2009, 04:40:27 AM
Hello all... I am in the process of selecting a plastic surgeon for some much needed work on the face. Friends say I dont need but I on the other disagree. Anyways my question is this.  The first doctor asked me the current Meds I am taking and I told him I was taking Estogen :o. He asked what for and I told him for (HRT).He looked dumb founded ??? and asked if he needed to know anymore about that and I said no. Has anyone had any surgeries while on Hormones? and how important is it to tell the doctors? The second part of my question is I am in Tampa Fl. and any recomendations for a good plastic surgeon who is Trans friendly who be much appreciated. Any thoughts or recomnedations for feminizing the face? Thanks to you all for your boldness and Love.

If I were you, I would be researching what I am taking, what I am doing, doctors around the areas, asking about successes and just about everything I could before even TRUSTING a doctor with my body.

That's just my two cents :3

Someone should be able to help you though, from these forums.

From what I have heard, people getting SRS are asked to stop taking their hormones a week or two before the surgery. I think the hormones increase the risk of blood clots.

I guess a similar guideline would apply for any surgery. I'm not expert though, just wanted to point out something that might be worth investigating.
