Here it is Friday at last. I've been looking forward to this all week as I have been run off my feet training new drivers and after awhile they can start to get to you. But, it's Friday, time to dance and laugh. I ended up at the usual club, god I'm getting so predictable, a creature of habit to be sure. Anyway I was wearing an electric blue tank top (the one in my pic), white skirt, black slides, and a light turquoise jacket, and I arrived.
I scanned the club, noticed and waved to a number of regulars. A couple I had met three weeks ago offered me a seat with them at their table and I accepted. They are from out of town so we took a few minutes catching up and such. Richard came in and at first he didn't see me as he walked by my table. I could tell that he was looking for someone or something, and I have to admit that I hoped it was me. I was about to stand and wave but thought better of it as I didn't want to seem too desperate, and out of the corner of my eye I saw that he had noticed me and that he was heading over. I pretended not to see him and acted surprised when he stood beside me and said hello. I stood up beside him and with my biggest smile said "hello, hello, it's great to see you", too eager I know, but I like his company. We chatted for the next 20 minutes or so about how our weeks had been, what our weekend plans were, what we thought of the blues festival last week yada, yada, yada... till the band started. Yay dancing.
I've really gotten to like dancing, not that I'm good at it, no complicated moves, I just find that when I'm dancing I am free to be me, and it's a great feeling. The band played three sets and then Richard asked if I would like to go out onto the patio for some fresh air, and we did. We chatted away about all sorts of things then finally played a slow dance, and Richard asked if I would like to dance. Of course I said yes. In the past our slow dances were cordial and discrete. This time he held me closer and I could feel his forearm against the side of my breast and his cheek against mine. I have never been this close before... It felt so natural, so comfortable, so right...
After the fouth set we decided to leave and he asked where I was parked, then I realized that "Oh god, he's going to walk me back to my car". We set off and after a hundred feet or so I realized I had left my jacket in the club and we turned to retrieve it, at the door I asked Richard if he would go in and get it for me which he did. While standing out side waiting for him two guys started to chat with me, but I could tell that they had had a few too many so I moved away from them and was relieved when Richard returned with my jacket. He offered to put it over my shoulders and we set off again. We chatted and laughed on the way till we arrived at the my car, "now what do I do". I keep my big purse locked in the trunk of the car and only take a "Clutch" with me when I'm dancing so I told him "just a sec I need to get my purse out of the trunk", which surprised him, it also gave me time to think. Damn how did I get myself into this.
I retrieved my purse, unlocked the car door and turned to face him. We chatted, but for the life of me I can't remember what we said, but at that point he leaned towards me, placed his hands on my waist, I placed my hands on his shoulders, and he kissed my cheek.
Oh, My, God!!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea what I said after that, other than something like "thanks so much for a wonderful time", and we both agreed that it would be nice to meet again next Friday. He left and I got in the car and sat and thought to myself... Hmmmmm that was nice. It simply felt so natural, so normal, so easy, so damned nice...

OMG Steph!!! I'm blushing and having a big smile on my face right now :icon_redface: ;D. I'm so happy for you! isn't it a wonderful feeling when a man takes you by the waist and sees you by what you really are? a woman.
My gosh, you really had fun last night...I have to do that one of these days...just go out...feel the cold breeze, breathe some fresh air, and remember old times ;)
As I said yesterday, or was it this morning? I love your photo....sexy, provocative, full of life! you go girl!!!

Sigh.....what a great story. Almost makes me rescind my self imposed "no dating" policy....
I'm so jealous....sigh.
You better go back next Friday or I'll personally come to your house and sob on your doorstep until you do :P

I don't know what everyone else will say about this, but to me, the acceptance of a man is one of the greatest indicators that we have, in fact, transitioned.

Wow Steph,
That was a good story. I particulary like your "pretend you didn't see him come in" part. That is the way to play it off. Well, now you have something to look forward to for next weekend ;)

Congratulations Steph. You look great and so happy in that picture. I am having a little trouble with the dancing myself, so I just wing and and hope nobdy laughs. So far so good. I'm glad you are able to do that and enjoy it. It must have felt so validating to get kissed. Just wait until you get kisses on the mouth. ;)

When I get your age, I'll have either created a potion to make me eternally young, become such a big star celebrity I can pay for expensive surgeries to make me youn again, married a rich man to make me young again, or have just gotten to the point where I don't give a FLYING **** and am happy for who I am cuz I'll still be priddy!
BTW: You're still pretty too, give Richard a run for his money... and other stuff.

Thanks for the sweet comments everyone, you guys are great.
On the topic of this age thingy, I am a firm believer in that we have only one life to live (my opinion so don't turn this into a religious thread or I'll zap y'all :) ) and we might just as well live it to it's fullest, have the most fun we can, take advantage of everyone and everything thing that comes our way (in a nice way of course). It makes no sense to me to be lying on your death bed (provided I get that far and I'm not hit by a school bus) thinking to yourself... "self... I wish I had done that", better to die contented, worn out, used up, with a happy heart, than a broken one :)
I know that I'm a bit of a flirt, well a big flirt, I like to go out and dance the night away, in the arms of a gentleman, I like nice cloths and I like to look good. Some think that I act too young for my age, heck at 54 I'm in the prime of life, healthy as a horse, and raring to go :) so look out cause I'm a coming.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd if any of the gentlemen here would care to trip the light fantastic and you happen to be in my neck of the woods, give me a shout as I know a few places that will knock your socks off (but that's all that will get knocked off) :)
Chat later everyone.

How far are you from Ottawa, Steph? I have a friend who's having a baby who lives there and I'm considering heading out there after the birth for entertainment value (my friend is an absent-minded genius, so I want to see how many times she leaves home and forgets the baby or feeds herself the bottle and leaves a cup of coffee on the table for the baby).

That's kind of like this quote:
Quote
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave
with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body,
But rather to skid in sideways,
chocolate in one hand,
wine in the other,
body thoroughly used up,
totally worn out and screaming
"WOO HOO what a ride!"

Aha, Tink you are very observant aren't you LOL :) He sent me an email on Friday asking if I was going to be at the club, and of course I said yes :) It was a pretty good night lots of dancing and in between sets we again sat on the patio and chatted about stuff, but just really enjoying each others company, he even got his hair cut and I told him it looked really nice. At one point he asked me to go with him to a motorcycle show this weekend but unfortunately I already had plans :( rats. But that's ok, it's not the end of the world. I noticed that there were a couple of other guys paying attention to me but it's hard to say whether it's because of my tattoos or if it's because of me. I like to think it's because of me. I've noticed that I'm so much more expressive on the dance floor now where as before it would take at least 4 to 5 beers before anyone could convince me to dance. Now I only drink soft-drinks and I have a ball. At the end of the night it ended with a kiss on the cheek and a hug agreeing to meet next week. I had a feeling that he wanted to kiss me on the lips but I'm afraid that I'm really not ready to move it to that level right now.
Soooooooo another wonderful night

QuoteAha, Tink you are very observant aren't you
Yes, I'd say I'm extremely observant (maybe plain nosy is the right adjective :D)
QuoteBut that's ok, it's not the end of the world.
Actually it is more exciting this way; you don't want to look desperate either ;)
QuoteI like to think it's because of me.
Sure it is because of you! I'd find it hard to believe that men just look at you because of your tattoos; besides being an attractive woman, you also have a great attitude towards life, and men sense that very quickly.
QuoteAt the end of the night it ended with a kiss on the cheek
That's so sweet!
QuoteI had a feeling that he wanted to kiss me on the lips
*giggles* I'm sure he did! :icon_redface: personally, I think that a little kiss on the lips does not mean major commitment really, but I can see and understand your point.
QuoteSoooooooo another wonderful night
I am happy for you! :)
Quoteagreeing to meet next week
*giggles again* I'll be waiting for the updates ;) ;D
yeah....you did have a marvelous night....maybe next time you will purposely lose one of your glass slippers so that he can knock door by door trying to find you! :D That's wonderful news, Steph. I'm glad you posted about this topic again....

I was just looking over some older posts and found this one.....
Two things I remember about my first kiss....
1, the mustache was like a bristle brush to my makeup....
and 2, the completely unexpected sensation of feeling something long and hard pressed against my abdomen......
It still gives me a flush....!
You (and I) will get more of 'em.....
Cheers!
