Hello all.
I am Dyssonance. Also known as ynsaen, best known as Toni D'orsay.
And yes, its ok with me that I do that, as I not only don't live stealth, but I find that it works well.
Folks call me either dyss or Toni.
And I am indeed, *that* Dyssonance. From Topix, from PHB, from Bilerico, from random really annoying posts scattered hither and yon. On facebook I'm Antonia D'orsay.
I am the immediate past chair of THis IS H.O.W., an all transgender halfway house and also the former house manager for it.
I am on the Board of Directors for TransMentors International, and I am recently annointed the communications director there.
I am the lead advocate for TransEquality Arizona.
None of which pays, and just means I do a lot of talking and political crap.
I started transition on October 10th, 2006, I am presently 44 years old, I have degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Comparative Religion, I am still married though unwillingly, and my children have decided its easier not to have anything to do with me.
I am not called Dyssonance because I am trans. I am dyssonance because I am a dissonant voice in the chorus. I am not not nice, but I suffer from kindness I keep trying to scrape off me.
I am here because of a wish. Like the proverbial devil, someone uttered my name, and so here I am.
I will be running for office in Phoenix, Arizona, where I live, in 2012. I have two boyfriends, and I do a lot of education and persnal one on one work with transfolks -- particularly in the minority communities and sex working communities.
I am multiracial -- black, white and red all over.
I have a very unique sense of humor.
I don't suffer fools lightly, and I am way over educated, so people often misinterpret things I say.
I know nothing about sports or cars beyond I like to drive fast and guys get weird.
I have all my documentation done -- Birth cert, ssa, passport, etc -- all of it shows female.
I have not had grs/srs and do not define people in terms of pre surgery, post surgery, or non surgery.
Mine will be scheduled around the same time I raise 25K or so, lol.
The rest, well... We will let happen :D

I think I can manage that. Even if following rules is so, well, harmonious.
*giggle*
And you are most welcome.

Nope, no savior. A friend and a very dear one. Perhaps you cannot relate to that?

Why would I not be able to relate to that Nichole? Friends are very important, especially dear ones.

Welcome, dyss, I'm happy to make a closer acquaintance with you. I've enjoyed your writing on other sites and I know you'll provide some pithy conversation here too. :)

Hi Dyss, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 2230 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:
And be sure to check out
Janet

You seem to have a very rare (and not just around here, but just about everywhere) of seeing things in terms of a life beyond yourself.
As for scraping the kindness off, I use a K-Bar knife, seems to do the trick.

Well if you are the same one I have been reading over at TG Board (I just joined as LoriR because I'm a ditz) I bet you will have lots of advice to offer. I'm glad you are here. Welcome.
