Having transitioned a decade ago, Bergstedt says he now hopes that the young trans people will recognize the contributions of his generation.
"I don't think younger generations ever get this; it's just like you see young women today who take a plethora of things for granted and don't have any idea of what the women's movement did for them or what the civil rights movement did for them."

Spencer's awesome. He helped me a lot when I was transitioning on the job. I wrote him and asked for ideas about coming out to clients and all that.
