There's quite a few articles like that out there that will generally say the same things. It's not always entirely accurate, however. It really depends on your face. And some webpages will say the exact opposite information as others.
I have a square face. They say to avoid center parts - in that article, Jennifer Aniston has one. I have a widow's peak, so a center part actually makes my forehead look smaller and more rounded, rather than broad.
I also look more masculine with my hair down around my face. Mine is chest length and I have to keep it behind my ears, rather than letting it get in my face or it looks blooming awful. One of the best styles I've found for me is a hanging updo that drops down and frames my neck. Face completely exposed, but with a nice pair of earrings and the framing at the neck, surprisingly feminine. I can only imagine how well it would work if I wore makeup.
Something I've been thinking about is how depending on your hair or face, certain cuts seem to completely backfire for a transperson. There are certain 'feminine' cuts that you tend to only really see on young guys going for the long hair look, and certain 'butchy' styles that you only see on lesbians (or at least girls who false positive gaydar everywhere they go.) Even if 'long hair = chick' and 'short hair = dude', people may notice these styles and combine them with our other traits and figure it out.
Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone but me.

I think my face is sqaure. So,
The most famous square face in the world knows to keep the hair soft and flowing, with volume only at the crown. While hair should be sleek, it shouldn't hug the face and flatten its contours.
Some women recommended me to have waved hair, and I should seriously consider it now ::)

i am not sure of mt face shape, but I have found that longer hair and soft bangs make mt face more feminine.
I can pull it back, bangs are a must to hide the forehead.

What is conflicting for me is that I love pushing it back with a headband but that defies all the rules about "hide the forehead"
I like the idea of bangs but that pretty much limits a lot of other styles so I'm trying to resist and let it all grow
I also an very impatient to get long enough for a ponytail - for some reason that seems like a major milestone for me.
Even though a standard ponytail takes you right back to the forehead/bang question.
