Title: Dancing?

No, I'm not talking free-form dancing, but ballroom dancing.
Changing your publicly acknowledged gender requires you to switch sides.
Fortunately, I was never good at leading so that I have little to un-learn.
I'm looking forward to giving it a try at our company bash soon.
Any thoughts, advice about dancing or finding a partner?
Should I bring a dance card and a pencil to keep track of my beaus?

Depending on how formal it is you may want to take lessons. It's a very precise deal after all.

I never found any pleasure in it, so I avoid it like the plague.

I love to dance and go out often, but the only real ballroom dancing I know is waltzing. Tried to learn the tango once but past about 3 moves I get confused lol Sounds like a lot of fun though! I'm sure you'll have a great time. ;)

Never did much ball room dancing. What little I did I found rather boring. I did how ever go to clubs and dance about when I was young. Sometimes I'd do a waltz with a friend to the ruckussy music just for kicks  My how I miss those days

Go for it! I loved dancing but haven't done it in years. My ex and I took lessons - ballroom, country swing, etc. - and we loved it. She had a hard time not leading and I had a hard time not following. ::) (That should have told us something. :P) We'd even switch sides sometimes, although it was awkward with other people there.
For me, the heels aren't a problem but the opposite moves were. You need to work with someone who can lead well. And don't worry about it unless you're on stage and everyone else is just standing there. Even a certain awkwardness can be fun.
Have a wonderful time!

I've considered taking up dancing once I'm fully passable. I never really enjoyed it before because most guys have no rhythm, and trying to follow a guy with no rhythm drove me up the wall. Plus there were always 5 women for every guy there. See, now I'll be a desired commodity and I'll get to lead. ;D
