I think that there are more important issues to report in the news.

Did you watch the video? To me this seems like a very important news item. It could help a lot of transgendered children.

I understand protecting the privacy, but this is an eight year old, that will probably be recognized when with her mother.. I agree with the reporting this brings light to people to understand what the tg child goes through.
Question from the rear did it seem she already has a girls shape? Hard to tell without a dress and such, as the clothes were really androgynous.

I'm sure, but not in Omaha.

It looks like she does, however with kids it's really hard to tell. To me she looked like a (not to be mean) slightly overweight girl. The reason why I said 'girl' is probably because of the clothes she was dressed in so yeah.

Part of the piece show who idiotic the Religious Reich is. When will people just let children be children, instead of forcing them to be what they think they should.
Blessed Be this little girl and her parents. Shame on the Catholic Church, their priests and that clown in Rome. Stay strong little sister and give em HELL.

I think it is news that needs to be proclaimed from the rooftops.
"Sweet innocent babe not doomed to suffer HELL that others, thousands of years before to the present day, had been forced to endure!"
"Catholic Church once again proves it's irrelevance!"
Are we REALLY gonna discuss the APPEARANCE of this little girl?
I was not trying to be derogatory, but she was dressed androgynous. I thought she appeared feminine already even though it looked like she was in in "boy" clothes.
That in my mind may seem confusing to the viewers of the piece going is this a girl or not. Presentation of a boy in a dress would certainly be disruptive to the image the parents are trying to spin.
I think a news cast like this may bring forth the growing acceptance of parents with TG children. I definitely think the Barbara Walters special a few years back may have helped open the door too.

Strangly enough, that was for some reason hard to watch...

I wasn't trying to be SNARKY.
Perhaps, but writing things in huge letters, in color, is considered to be rather rude. Its great for Ecards, bad for posting boards.

After watching the piece, I can only think of the Lack of nurturing in my own childhood. I think its great she has an understanding mother. The parent's skeptical attitudes did change to positive IMO.

Well, I thought it was a nice little piece on an average family. We need many more of such reports to help with the average person's perceptions !!
