Of late, there is a great deal of questioning over what Cis means, and whether or not it is aimed as a pejorative or a word meant to attack.
It isn't.
In discussing trans lives, there needed to be a way in which our lives and our perspective could be addressed that did not reference those people who are not trans.

As a note, this posting grew out of the comments section of the earlier posted article on John Avarosis.
There is a great deal of support out there among the cisGLB population for us, but there is also still a great deal of apathy and outright bigotry that we face from within that group as well.
It is my goal to call it out whenever I see it, and sometimes I need to do so in a different way than usual.

I feel the same way, Dyssonance. Rather than pick fights I'd rather educate people by being open and speak whenever opportunities present themselves.
