Title: Something wonderful

My son called me yesterday afternoon. I wasn't available so he left a message. His wife had her baby daughter. He is happy when I can come visit. It's not often because we live so far away. I don't know what he'll have his daughters call me. While he was growing up, he always called me "Uhm". As in "Uhm, could we stop and get a drink?" He will now call my by my first name which is just fine. I'm still "dad" when he's talking to someone else about me.
But I'm jazzed. I'm planning a trip in a month or so to go see her.

That is such good news Cindi you must be thrilled. I hope that everyone is healthy, so tell all, how heavy was she etc. etc. We were wandering what grandchildren would call me if we get any of course.

Congratulations Cindi! This is such wonderful news indeed!
You are finally an "abuelita" ;D You have been Cindi for so long now, and hopefully your son will teach his children to call you "grandma".....or maybe...
simply "cindi", that'd be really cute too. :)
love ya!

This is absolutely winderful, Cindi! I have four grandchildren - two of them are my step-son's (4 and 13yrs old) and two are his stepchildren (16 & 18). No blood relation whatsoever and I love 'em to pieces anyway.
I'll bet it's even better when they are direct family.
Hugs & Smiles and CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! !

PS - We Definitely need to see pics as soon as possible!

I finally got on the horn with my son an hour ago. He was in the hospital with his wife and baby. I was able to talk to both of them at some length. Her name will be Alyssa. She weighs just 5 pounds. She seems to be very healthy. She also came ready with an apetite and is nursing right away.
I am thrilled for both of them. Thanks to everyone for your good will and love.

Here is the URL to the photos. Kaylie and Alyssa are my grand daughters. Grandma is... welll guess. Grandpa is her new spouse. Daddy is my kid. Since it isn't cool to post external URL's here, you'll have to piece it together in your own browser

You have to sign up I think. You need to give them an email address. Give them a phoney if that makes you cringe. There is no cost.
