Title: Told my friend

I just told one of my friends, he seemed really shocked and thought I was playing a practical joke on him. Took a few minutes but I finally convinced him it wasn't a joke and he is really supportive :D. After a while of talking he told me that this wouldn't be able to ruin our friendship. It's really great to tell someone and even better that he took it so well. :)

Oh, it's always good to hear about a time when this conversation goes well. I'm really pleased for you and it sounds like this is a true friend. Well done!

It's such a nice feeling when people we care for think before responding. I've had no negative reactions from friends. Just two GGs, a sister in law and a friend who insist that I need my ears pierced. No, not negative, just fun girl talk.

Good for you, Janah. Each person you tell will be easier than the one before.
Dealing with our issues is tough. We need all the help we can get, and being able to talk to our friends is a HUGE help.
Keep going forward. :D

Thats cool. The same thing happened with my friend although I think it could put some changes between us because she doesn't really understand it :/ Hopefully not but lucky for you guys are more like whatever on this topic.

I don't know, just act with her like you always have. Things were a bit awkward after I told my parents and a few of my female friends, 'cause they don't understand it at all (but are accepting all the same), but things have returned to normal. Just be prepared to answer whatever questions she may have, people who are initially accepting like that (and it's wonderful that she's one of those people) might just need a bit of time to adjust before things return to normal.

Janah, that's absolutely fantastic. :) It's good to hear you've got such a supportive, caring friend. As Kate said, supportive friends who are willing to let their shoulders be miserably cried on, have their ears angstily ranted off and be euphorically bear-hugged to death really are a HUGE help, I don't know how anyone could do this without them. I love my friends for their endless support, and I'm so glad your friend is like that too.

I've had several friends who showed acceptance at first but were unsure tell me later that
1) they decided I was the same person I had been and so it was easy to accept me as Kate, or
2) they could tell I was just being myself, and so they were happy for me and we could just be friends like we had been.
Be who you are.

Very cool Kate, I like the video on Loren Cameron's site, he's talking abut telling someone he's transexual, and they said, "Well, don't you need to shave?" they thought he was a bio-man!
