Title: An introduction
Post by: Shelly on July 31, 2009, 03:15:19 AM
I just wanted to introduce myself - I'm currently a MtF Transsexual. I'm currently majoring in Biology with an intent to go into medical school to become an endocrinologist. I like the occasional video game, book, and/or movie. Also, I'm 22 years old.

That is pretty much all I have.

I look forward to meeting all of you

Hi Shelly,
Goddess, I wish I was 22 .
Endocrinologist is an interesting speciality to aim for, any reason?

Love and Welcome from Australia.

Hi Shelly, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 2900 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

Welcome, Shelly.

Good luck in your studies.  You would certainly bring a perspective to endocrinology that can't be learned in books.

The reason I want to become a doctor, more specifically an endocrinologist, is because I read a story of a Transsexual that was denied medical care. This personally made me sick, so I decided to make a change in medical community. Inevitably I decided to enter the medical field, and since most people transitioning see endocrinologist more than other type of doctor, I decided to specialize in that.

I have a passion to accomplish this, set forth by my condition and as well as the way others are being treated. I'm not one of those people who can sit back and watch people be denied medical treatment because of race, sex, sexual orientation, or even being a transsexual.

I might not make much of a difference, but everything starts out small and gradually grows into something bigger.

That's why :)
